Convenient transportation
Ha Dong area of Thanh Ha district has 3 communes, including Thanh Quang, Vinh Cuong and Thanh Hong. Every day, Mr. Le Thanh Phu in Tu Y village, Vinh Cuong commune only takes 20 minutes to get to work in An Duong district (Hai Phong city) by crossing Quang Thanh bridge. For Mr. Phu, it is a joy because the bridge has helped his work and family life become more stable.
In 2017, Phu studied and worked in Hai Phong. At that time, the Quang Thanh ferry was far away, so he often crossed the Tu ferry to go to work. There were days when he finished work late, having to cross the river by ferry made Phu both tired and wasted time waiting, so he decided to rent a place in Hai Phong. After getting married and having children, his whole family continued to rent here, facing high living costs and inconvenient travel. "Since the Quang Thanh bridge was built, travel has become more convenient. The family no longer has to rent a place but returns to the countryside to live with their parents, the children are taken care of by their grandparents, sooner or later they can go home without fear of being separated by the river and the ferry," said Phu.

Immediately after the Quang Thanh Bridge was completed in 2021, people in Ha Dong area were happy because of the convenient travel. Because it is adjacent to Hai Phong, many workers in Ha Dong area go to Hai Phong to work closer to Hai Duong city or neighboring districts in the province.
Previously, there were 3 ferries and 1 ferry that transported people from Ha Dong area to Hai Phong for work. Since the Quang Thanh bridge was built, the ferry with the same name has stopped operating, the remaining ferries are still operating but with few passengers.
Currently, many people in Ha Dong area work in Trang Due and An Duong industrial parks in Hai Phong city. Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, Chairman of Thanh Quang Commune People's Committee, said that in the past, people in the commune traveled by boat or ferry, so few people went to Hai Phong to work. Now, the roads are clear and the traffic is convenient, so more people go to Hai Phong to work, and they have a good income.
Easy trading

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoi in Ha Vinh village (Thanh Quang commune) is happy every time she talks about the bridge over Van Uc river. Ms. Hoi shared that she used to be a lychee trader. When the lychee season came, people would transport the lychee across Quang Thanh ferry or take a boat to Hai Phong for sale. On rainy days, the slippery road made it difficult to travel. "During the rainy and windy weather, there were many people on the boat, the boat swayed on the river, which was very dangerous," Ms. Hoi recalled.
Since the Quang Thanh bridge was built, traders from Hai Phong with large and small trucks have been coming to the gardens to buy lychees, making trade easier and more convenient. From a somewhat quiet agricultural area, Ha Dong has become more vibrant in recent years. Many people have invested in means of transporting agricultural products and goods to Hai Phong for consumption.
Mr. Le Van Dat, Secretary of the Vinh Cuong Commune Party Committee, said that since the Quang Thanh Bridge was built, trade between communes in the Ha Dong area and Hai Phong has increased significantly. The traffic connection not only helps people sell goods at higher prices, but also reduces dependence on intermediaries.
Not only Ha Dong area, many workers in Ha Bac and Ha Nam areas of Thanh Ha district also cross this bridge to do business and trade along Highway 390... People's lives are increasingly prosperous.
The distance between Ha Dong of Thanh Ha district and the inner districts of Hai Phong city is increasingly shortened, promoting the connection between the two regions. Thanks to the advantage of proximity and convenient transportation, workers in Ha Dong area can go to work and return home in the same day, without having to leave their hometown to live in the city. This contributes to increasing income, improving people's lives while still maintaining the rural lifestyle.
