Many exciting activities in the National Exhibition and Parade on September 2nd

On the afternoon of August 22, at the National Exhibition and Fair Center (Dong Anh, Hanoi), the Central Steering Committee for the celebration of major holidays and important historical events of the country in 3 years (2023-2025) held a press conference to inform about the "National Achievements Exhibition" on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

Attending the press conference were Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh; Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Lai Xuan Mon; Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh; Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Dinh Thi Mai; Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang.

Diverse activities at the national exhibition

According to Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism was assigned by the Government to host the National Achievements Exhibition with the theme: " 80 years of the journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" , taking place from August 28 to September 5. This is a particularly important event in the series of events celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day.

“The exhibition is not only a place for us to admire artifacts and documents, but also a space to display the country's outstanding achievements over the past 80 years. So that every citizen, especially the young generation, can relive historical moments, understand more deeply the value of independence, freedom as well as the aspirations, will and intelligence of Vietnam.

Under the direction of the Party, State and Government leaders, the National Exhibition and Fair Center - the venue for the Exhibition - was built and completed in less than 10 months. This is one of the Top 10 largest exhibition complexes in the world, demonstrating the aspiration, will, intelligence and spirit of Vietnam", Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh said.
At the Exhibition, the Organizing Committee also established a Press Center to serve reporters reporting on the Exhibition.

Regarding the National Achievements Exhibition, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong said that the exhibition is on a national scale, a major event never before held with the participation of ministries, branches, central organizations, 34 provinces and cities, businesses, strategic partner countries, diplomatic missions, etc.

The exhibition is organized into many display areas, creating a rich journey of experience about the history, culture, economy and development of the country.

The general area at Kim Quy Exhibition House has the theme “Vietnam - journey to a new era”, introducing historical slices, core values ​​and great achievements in the process of building and defending the country. Including the space “Vietnam - Country - People” implemented by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, honoring the beauty of culture, art, nature and people of Vietnam...

In addition, there is also an exhibition called “Rich Province, Strong Country” about the innovation process, cultural identity and development potential of 34 provinces and cities. The space “Economic Locomotive” introduces the role of state-owned enterprises, while “Start-up and Nation Building” affirms the aspirations of typical private enterprises and national brands.

The outdoor area with the theme of “Integration and Development” includes many unique spaces: “For a green future” (Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Industry and Trade) displays renewable energy, green technology, North-South high-speed railway model; “Aspiration for the sky” (Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Construction) introduces aerospace products, satellites, and model aircraft; “Sword and shield” (Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of National Defense) displays special equipment and vehicles, demonstrating the strength to protect the Fatherland and maintain social order; “National festival” with fair, cultural, culinary, tourism, and entertainment activities, creating a lively experience space for the people.

In addition, the exhibition also has art performance spaces, international zones, displaying 12 cultural industries with the theme of “Integration and Creativity”, and the “Vietnam and the World” zone implemented by the diplomatic sector and embassies. All contribute to depicting Vietnam’s dynamic development journey, while opening the door to integration with international friends.

Mr. Ta Quang Dong affirmed that up to now, the preparations for the exhibition are going according to plan. Many booths have completed construction and are being displayed. The new point of the exhibition is that many display spaces have digital technology applications and maps so that people and tourists can search for information.

The exhibition is open to the public free of charge.

There will be a formation at the parade on September 2.

Regarding the organization of the parade on September 2, Major General Tong Van Thanh, Deputy Director of the Propaganda Department, General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, said that there will be 6 forces participating in the parade, including: Traditional torch bearer and fire guard; ceremonial artillery force; air force flying salute; marching force; background force and formation force.

Of which, the parade and marching force will have 4 Honor Guards; 43 groups representing the people's armed forces (26 Army groups, 17 Police groups); foreign military groups (expected 4 groups), including: China, Russia, Laos, Cambodia; military vehicles, artillery, special police vehicles; sea parade force; 12 mass parade groups; 1 Culture and Sports group. Regarding the foreign military groups, there are currently delegations from Cambodia, Russia, Laos who have arrived in Vietnam and participated in joint training. The Chinese delegation is expected to arrive at the end of August.

The Organizing Committee organized 4 joint training sessions and 5 combined training sessions (on July 17, August 5, August 13, August 16, and combined training on August 21). Immediately after the combined training session on the evening of August 21 at Ba Dinh Square, the Organizing Committee assessed that the forces had a good quality combined training session. "Overall, up to now, all blocks and forces have completed the training program well, 100% of officers and soldiers have good awareness, high determination, and are excited to carry out their tasks," Major General Tong Van Thanh shared.

Providing more information about the foreign delegations participating in the parade, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang said that up to now, there are 6 high-level delegations, including China, Russia, Laos, Cambodia, Cuba, and Belarus, who will attend the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2. Some of these delegations will conduct bilateral activities.

Ms. Hang also said that more than 20 political party delegations and 8 defense ministry delegations from various countries have confirmed their attendance at Vietnam's anniversary celebration. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will invite a number of international reporters to attend and cover the anniversary celebration as well as activities related to the event.

In addition, for the first time, the Overseas Vietnamese Bloc participated in the parade at the Anniversary Ceremony and had a practice session. “The 50 overseas Vietnamese all shared their joy and pride in participating in the parade on the country’s important holiday, while also demonstrating their responsibility as Vietnamese citizens even though they are living far away from the Fatherland,” Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang added.

Providing more information about the 13 mass parade groups, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong said that the forces will not only march but also participate in forming shapes to create highlights for the event. The shapes will be the national flag and welcoming slogans.

In addition, the parade will end with a final performance (15 minutes), mobilizing nearly 2,000 actors from different forces to perform a medley with the theme of praising the country. "The parade will be organized solemnly and attractively with many new contents," said Mr. Ta Quang Dong.

According to the plan, the second general training session of the armed forces will take place from 8:00 p.m. on August 24. The preliminary review at the State level will take place from 8:00 p.m. on August 27. The general review at the State level will take place from 6:30 a.m. on August 30, 2025. The official ceremony will take place from 6:30 a.m. on September 2, 2025 at Ba Dinh Square, Hanoi.
