The Institute of Non-Traditional Security, School of Business and Administration, Vietnam National University, Hanoi has just held a press conference to announce information about the training program "Non-Traditional Security Assistant".
Graduates in the non-traditional security assistant field have many job opportunities.
According to a survey, the current demand for personal and family security, security protection for agencies, units, organizations, schools, hospitals and businesses is very large.
However, the profession of security guards, bodyguards, secretaries, and assistants in Vietnam has not been thoroughly trained, and there are no specialized training courses on skills and expertise. Most security service companies only train students in basic security skills with short-term courses.

Based on a survey of reality and the development needs of society, the School of Business and Administration, Vietnam National University, Hanoi has developed a non-traditional security assistant training program, expected to start training from May 2025.
At the program announcement ceremony, Major General, Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Nhat, Director of the Non-Traditional Security Training Center, Institute of Non-Traditional Security, said that the Institute will coordinate with high schools nationwide to organize the training course "School Security - Life Skills - Learning to Know - Learning to Live Together".
This is new knowledge, not yet taught in schools in Vietnam.
Non-traditional security assistant training program expected to enroll students from May 2025
The purpose of this training course is to provide knowledge about school security, legal knowledge and skills to prevent and handle dangerous situations, helping students practice life skills, defense skills, and handle dangerous situations... The target students are high school students.
Lecturers are leading scientists and managers with theoretical and practical experience from Hanoi National University, former lecturers at the Ministry of Public Security and Ministry of National Defense.
4 groups of non-traditional security assistant skills and knowledge include: Knowledge of national and international politics and law; knowledge of assistant - office, assistant - secretary of leaders, assistant to leaders' families; knowledge of medicine, armed protection, anti-terrorism, prevention of hostage taking, child kidnapping, rescue, handling of emergency situations, fires, natural disasters, etc.; knowledge of soft skills such as behavioral culture, reception, foreign languages, information technology and network security skills, skills in driving motorbikes, cars, ships, martial arts, using support tools, using service dogs, horse riding, swimming, diving, etc.
Colonel Do Canh Thin, Deputy Director of the Institute of Non-Traditional Security, said that after graduating from the training course, students will have many career opportunities at agencies, organizations, schools, hospitals, businesses, etc. according to job groups.
Specifically, working as security guard/secretary - assistant for Vietnamese agencies, organizations, schools, hospitals, and enterprises in Vietnam and abroad; working as security leader (commander)/office chief (secretary - assistant) for Vietnamese agencies, organizations, enterprises, schools, and hospitals; exporting foreign labor to work as security guard/assistant - secretary for foreign agencies, organizations, schools, hospitals, and enterprises (priority in Korea).
A training course lasts from 6 to 9 months, after graduation, the Institute will introduce students to large businesses and corporations.
In addition, if they wish, graduates can continue to study for a Bachelor's degree in Non-traditional Security Management at the School of Business and Management, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
The target candidates are young men and women who have graduated from high school and are interested in security, assistant or housekeeper jobs. Priority is given to citizens who have graduated from high school and have completed military or police service.
