On the morning of May 5, the stock market traded its first session on the new KRX system. In the first 15 minutes of the ATO session, the market recorded some slight disruptions, and trading orders were not really smooth.

However, after a short time, trading activities stabilized again. VN-Index ended the morning session up 4.83 points, surpassing the 1,230-point mark, reaching 1,231.13 points.

Individual investors and brokers were quite cautious on the first day of the new system. Liquidity on the HoSE floor only reached about VND5,700 billion, lower than the usual level of about VND8,000 billion.

On financial forums, the investor community expressed mixed opinions about the KRX system, especially regarding technical errors such as order processing delays and display problems. However, up to now, there has been no official response from the regulatory agency.

Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen The Minh, Director of Research and Development for Individual Clients at Yuanta Securities Vietnam, commented that the delay in the ATO session was mainly due to the initial factors of the new system and users not being familiar with the operation. He also affirmed that the phenomenon of slow orders only appeared locally, delayed for a few seconds and did not have a big impact on the overall market.

Some brokers also confirmed that there were no serious errors recorded during the order placement process. In the continuous order matching session, the price board sometimes displayed a delay of 2-3 seconds, but this was not significant and the system operated more smoothly towards the end of the session.

Mr. Minh also added that some stocks that were previously restricted from trading have been allowed to trade again, which may cause the data display to not be completely stable on the first day. The decrease in liquidity is explained by investors' cautious psychology. However, he predicted that after the familiarization period, liquidity will soon improve in the coming sessions.
