According to the Land Fund Development Center of Bac Kan City, the total amount of money paid directly to people whose land and assets were recovered for site clearance on the entire Cho Moi - Bac Kan Expressway is over 572 billion VND. Of which, 196 billion VND was paid to 345 households and individuals in the affected area of ​​Nong Thuong Commune and Song Cau Ward, the remaining amount was paid to 865 households, individuals and 05 organizations in the affected area of ​​Thanh Thinh, Nong Ha, Thanh Mai, Thanh Van communes of Cho Moi District.

Understanding the psychology of people when receiving a large sum of money, the Bac Kan City Land Fund Development Center has proactively coordinated with commercial banks to organize propaganda sessions right during the payment process. In addition to disbursing money quickly and following the correct procedures, the bank staff also directly advises and guides people to deposit savings, ensuring financial security and stable profits.

Ms. Nong Thi Ngoc Linh, Deputy Director of Minh Khai Transaction Office, BIDV Bank, Bac Kan branch, shared: "When receiving compensation, many people are not used to managing large amounts of money, and are easily taken advantage of by bad guys to lure them into investing in unclear projects and buying and selling poor quality goods. We have given very specific advice so that people understand that saving at the bank is a safe choice, with stable interest rates and protected by law."

According to preliminary statistics, at recent payment sessions, about 60% of households immediately deposited all or part of the compensation money into the bank. The rest are mainly considering how to use it, but have been carefully guided by officials on safe channels.

Avoid the situation of money "evaporating"

In fact, in previous years, in many localities, there have been many cases where people, after receiving compensation, were lured into investing in "ghost" real estate projects, participating in savings and credit associations, investing in finance, buying high-end electronics and home appliances at "exorbitant" prices... and quickly fell into poverty. That expensive lesson is the reason why the Land Fund Development Center and banks in this payment period not only "distribute money", but also "distribute financial knowledge".

Mr. Chu Van Tuan, a resident of Hop Thanh village, Nong Thuong commune, after receiving compensation for his rice fields and hills, decided to save all of this money. He confided: "After listening to the bank staff's analysis, I decided to deposit it in the bank, which is both safe and has regular monthly interest. The important thing is to keep the capital."

Mr. Tuan's story is also the common thinking of many households in Bac Kan today. Instead of hastily spending or investing without calculation, people have a more sober view of money.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Chung, Na Lang village, Nong Thuong commune also decided to deposit money in the bank right at the compensation receiving ceremony. She said: "Depositing money here is both profitable and safe. I will withdraw it only when I have a plan to use it to invest in buying land or fields."

Ms. Trieu Thi Banh, Thanh Cong village, Nong Thuong commune, is in poor health and cannot move around. Bank staff and representatives from other agencies directly brought money to her house to pay her, and at the same time guided her to open a savings account. Ms. Banh said that with this method, people can feel secure about the compensation money.

The effective use of compensation money by the people not only helps them protect their achievements but also contributes positively to the stability of the local economy and society. Because when the money is put into the bank, it is not "frozen" but continues to be lent by the bank to legal production and business projects, creating a healthy economic cycle.

Looking at the story of land acquisition for the Cho Moi - Bac Kan expressway, it can be seen that: Compensation disbursement does not stop at paying correctly, sufficiently, and quickly, but must also be associated with supporting people to know how to protect their assets.

The local government, the Land Fund Development Center and banks have played this role well, bringing peace of mind and trust to the people. Payments are still being continued in the communes where the project passes through. In addition, in the province, there are other projects that have paid compensation for land acquisition with a large total amount, such as the Bac Kan City - Ba Be Lake Road Project connecting to Na Hang (Tuyen Quang) phase 2 with an amount of over 40 billion VND...

In the context of the increasing number of large projects, financial support and the people's alertness in consumption and investment will be a solid foundation for Bac Kan to develop sustainably.
