On the afternoon of December 26, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Inspection Committee held a conference to review the Party's inspection, supervision and discipline work in 2024 and deploy key tasks in 2025. Attending the conference was Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai.

Speaking at the conference, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai assessed that in 2024, the city's Party inspection sector achieved good results. Thereby, contributing to the overall success of Party building, government building, mass mobilization work and economic development, and political and security stability in the city.

In 2025, Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai requested the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Inspection Committee to effectively summarize the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW dated October 25, 2017 of the 12th Central Executive Committee "Some issues on continuing to innovate and reorganize the system's apparatus, streamline politics, and operate effectively and efficiently". Must retain talented, dedicated cadres in the apparatus to continue to contribute. Check the publicity, transparency, and clarity in resolving policies for affected cadres; check and supervise functions, tasks, regulations, and working relationships after the reorganization.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee said that the Central Government is currently very focused and the people are very interested in and following the issue of fighting waste. Previously, the Central Government had given instructions but the localities focused mainly on preventing and fighting corruption and negativity. The prevention and fighting of waste has not been given the right level of importance and danger.

Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai emphasized that in urban areas like Ho Chi Minh City, the issue of preventing and combating waste is very complicated and the people are especially concerned. That is why Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai suggested that the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Inspection Committee pay more attention to the work of preventing and combating waste. He gave examples of issues related to regulations on public asset management, mechanisms for exploiting public land and other public assets that are very prone to waste.

Regarding this issue, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Inspection Commission Tran Kim Yen admitted that in recent times, the Inspection sector has paid much attention to the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity. Some places have taken lightly, or even not paid attention to the work of preventing and combating waste. Ms. Yen also said that this is an issue that the people are very concerned about.

According to Ms. Tran Kim Yen, in 2024, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and the Inspection Committee of the City Party Committee established delegations to supervise and inspect the implementation of Directive No. 24-CT/TU dated November 11, 2019 of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee on inventorying and reviewing land funds, houses, constructions and other assets attached to state-owned land and strengthening leadership and direction to improve the effectiveness of management and use of houses, land and assets attached to state-owned land in the city.

"If we don't check, that's fine. When we check this field, we immediately discover violations," said Ms. Tran Kim Yen.

The Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee cited a number of violations such as not managing and inventorying real estate; there are units leasing assets that have expired contracts, do not sign new contracts, do not collect money and do not get back the premises; many addresses are left out. There are even addresses for officials to live in but there is no policy; using assets for the wrong purpose; joint ventures and associations that do not comply with regulations.

Ms. Tran Kim Yen said that in the coming time, the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee will advise the City Party Committee's Standing Committee to inspect this content. At the same time, she suggested improving the self-inspection of each individual and especially the units assigned to carry out this content.
