On May 1, Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV) solemnly organized the program "A lifetime, a forest" to mark the 50th anniversary of HTV's first broadcast.
On this occasion, HTV was honored to receive the First Class Labor Medal from the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for its outstanding achievements in propaganda in the fields of politics, economics, society and social security work, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland.
The station was honored to receive the Government's Emulation Flag from the Prime Minister for its outstanding achievements, leading the patriotic emulation movement in 2024 of Ho Chi Minh City.

Exactly 50 years ago – also in the glorious days of the great spring victory, the liberation flag flew on the roof of the Independence Palace… opening a new era for the country – and for the city named after Uncle Ho.
At that sacred moment, a new television station – with many ambitions and aspirations – broadcast its first frames. That was Saigon Liberation Television, now HTV. From a primitive station with rudimentary equipment, HTV has gone through 50 springs – to become one of the most prestigious and widespread television brands in the country.
With the theme "A lifetime, a forest", the art and exchange program is also an opportunity to honor the great contributions of generations of cadres, reporters, editors and television workers who have accompanied HTV over the past half century.
At the same time, this is also an opportunity for HTV to review its journey of formation, development and affirm its pioneering role in the field of mass media in Vietnam.
Outstanding individuals with outstanding achievements of BTV were awarded certificates of merit by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
Under the direction of the Board of Directors, HTV's staff and employees are always unanimous, united and unified in all activities, promoting the pioneering and proactive spirit of the press and media agency to strive to successfully complete regular and ad hoc political tasks assigned.

In recognition of the outstanding contributions of individuals working at the station and on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of HTV's first broadcast, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 40 individuals of the station for their work in organizing and implementing propaganda programs at HTV.
The ceremony was broadcast live on HTV 9, attracting a large audience. The event was attended by many leaders of the Central and Ho Chi Minh City, veteran officials, representatives of partner agencies and units, and generations of MCs, reporters, and editors who have been and are working with HTV.

The program featured artists such as Tang Thanh Ha, Tran Thanh, and My Tam sharing their heartfelt and emotional gratitude through clips, sharing memories of their association with HTV, demonstrating the connection between the television station and the artist community.

HTV's 50-year journey is not only an art exchange program but also a vivid film recreating HTV's 50 memorable years.
Journalist Tan Tai - a familiar MC of HTV - confided: "50 years is not a short journey. It is half a century of countless silent contributions, of thousands of people who have contributed to creating the HTV brand - steadfast and close to the public. And today - at the moment of 50 years - we together witness this special milestone, we will stick together, unite and promote creativity to reap many new achievements for HTV".
HTV is one of the first television stations in the country, officially broadcasting on May 1, 1975 - just one day after the country was reunified. Over the past 50 years, HTV has continuously innovated in both content and technology, becoming the main information, entertainment and educational channel serving the spiritual life of the people of Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country.
