Phu Huu BOT station investor proposes to reduce fees in some cases
The investor of Phu Huu BOT station, Thu Duc city proposed to exempt tolls for school buses, garbage trucks and reduce 50% of the fee for non-business vehicles within the toll route.
Vicem Ha Tien Cement Joint Stock Company (project investor) has just sent a report to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport on the operation situation at Phu Huu BOT station.
According to the report, on the first day of toll collection (September 17), a total of 5,335 vehicles passed through the station, of which 214 vehicles were exempted from the toll. However, the toll collection encountered difficulties due to protests from some residents living along the toll road.
Some people work as taxi and technology car drivers and drive through the station every day, so they do not agree with the toll fee.

Some school bus and garbage truck owners and some car owners living on the toll road do not agree with the current fee.
Many businesses and employees working at businesses located on the toll route want to exempt their cars from tolls when traveling through Phu Huu BOT station.
To resolve these shortcomings, the investor proposed to exempt fees for school buses, garbage collection vehicles, and cars with less than 12 seats used for business purposes by households with permanent or temporary residence for more than 6 months within the Nguyen Thi Tu and Dang Thanh Hieu routes.
The investor also proposed a 50% reduction in the fee for cars of employees of enterprises headquartered on Nguyen Thi Tu and Dang Thanh Hieu streets.
Non-business vehicles of enterprises headquartered within 500 m from the Phu Huu BOT toll station.
The investor also recommended that the People's Committee of Phu Huu Ward soon organize a dialogue with residents and businesses with the participation of the Department of Transport and the Phu Huu BOT Road Management Enterprise to exchange opinions and recommendations related to toll collection at the Phu Huu BOT station.
Since the Phu Huu BOT station started collecting tolls, many businesses and residents have been very upset because the investor only built more than 2 km of this road, while the toll ranges from 14,000 VND/trip to 110,000 VND/trip (applied gradually for each type of vehicle).
Businesses say that collecting fees on too short a stretch of road causes overlapping fees, making it difficult for businesses in the current situation of declining orders.
Previously, at a press conference on the economic and social situation of Ho Chi Minh City on September 19, Mr. Bui Hoa An, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport, said that after inspecting the toll collection at BOT Phu Huu, Thu Duc City, he found some shortcomings such as damaged road surfaces, stagnant water, and blurred road markings that did not meet the conditions for exploitation.
Afterwards, the Department of Transport sent an official dispatch requesting Vicem Ha Tien Cement Joint Stock Company (project investor) to urgently overcome the shortcomings.
The investor of this Project is Vicem Ha Tien Cement Joint Stock Company.
