According to Clause 1, Article 112 of the 2019 Labor Code, employees are entitled to 11 days off with full pay on 6 holidays and Tet, specifically: 1 day off for New Year's Day (January 1); 5 days off for Lunar New Year; 1 day off for Southern Liberation Day (April 30); 1 day off for International Labor Day (May 1); 2 days off for National Day (September 2 and 1 day before or after); 1 day off for Hung Kings' Commemoration Day (March 10 of the lunar calendar).
Pursuant to the 2019 Labor Code, regarding the upcoming National Day holiday on September 2, Notice No. 6150/TB-BLDTBXH previously stated: "Civil servants and public employees are entitled to a holiday on the occasion of National Day in 2025 from Saturday, August 30 to Tuesday, September 2. This holiday includes 2 public holidays and 2 weekly days off."
For agencies and units that do not have a fixed weekly Saturday and Sunday off schedule, Notice No. 6150 recommends that based on the specific program and plan of the unit, they arrange a holiday schedule in accordance with legal regulations.
For employees who do not belong to administrative agencies, public service agencies, political organizations, or socio-political organizations, the employer decides to choose the National Day holiday option. Accordingly, the official day off is Tuesday (September 2) and the employee can choose one of two days: Monday (September 1) or Wednesday (September 3).
The State encourages employers to apply this year's National Day holiday time to employees as prescribed for civil servants and public employees.
Thus, the upcoming September 2nd holiday will have 4 days. Announcing the holiday schedule early will help employees arrange their work, rest, go home, or travel.
