Faced with the difficult road conditions, responding to the movement to join hands in building the new rural area, he and his family took the lead in donating land, trees, and crops to build a concrete road 3m wide, 150m long, with an area of ​​450m2; mobilized and worked with households in the hamlet to dig, level the ground, buy sand, gravel, and labor days to pour concrete, with a total cost of over 50 million VND, which has now been completed.

Since then, the movement of donating land to build roads in the village has become more active. Villagers have donated thousands of square meters of land and hundreds of working days to build more than 3 km of rural concrete roads, helping villagers travel easily and children go to school conveniently.

In addition, he also actively mobilized people to do the project of lighting up the countryside roads. As a result, over 3km of the illuminated roads were completed, creating convenience for people's lives, contributing to ensuring security, order and social safety. Mobilizing people to pay attention and be proactive in environmental sanitation work, clearing village roads and alleys once a month to put them into order.

In particular, he and his family took the lead in donating more than 200 square meters of land to build a village cultural house, contributing working days and over 2 million VND to build infrastructure in the village; mobilizing people to donate over 700 square meters of land to build a cultural house and contributing over 100 million VND to build the village cultural house.

Mobilize people to contribute money to purchase interior equipment for the village cultural house such as electricity, fans, concrete playground, etc. Each household contributes 100,000 VND, party members and cadres contribute 200,000 VND or more. The result of the mobilization is over 300 million VND.

Mr. Vi Hien Du also actively advised the Party Cell and the Village Front Working Committee to build village covenants and conventions to eliminate backward customs and practices, build a civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals, and festivals; unite to build a new life in residential areas, implement the criteria for building a cultural new-style rural village, a cultural commune, etc. Thanks to that, by October 2021, Khanh Thien commune was recognized as meeting the new-style rural standards.

With his contributions to the community and society, Mr. Vi Hien Du received many Certificates of Merit and Certificates of Merit from all levels and sectors. In 2023, Mr. Du and 13 other prestigious people representing 870 prestigious people in Yen Bai province attended and were honored at the Conference to honor advanced models as prestigious people in ethnic minority areas nationwide in 2023 organized by the Ethnic Committee.

Similarly, Mr. Mua A Sung, born in 1943, is a prestigious person in mobilizing people to join hands in building the new rural area of ​​Tram Tau commune, Tram Tau district. Mr. Sung is a retired cadre, has worked in various fields in the locality, regularly contributes ideas and actively participates in patriotic emulation movements, mobilizing children and families, so when there is his mobilization, everything is successful.

For example, in opening rural roads, to make people believe and follow, his family took the lead in donating over 10,000 m2 of land. Listening to and following Mr. Sung, the local people also donated land to build roads, clearing 8 km of the Tram Tau - Xa Ho inter-commune road, 8.5 km of intra-village and intra-field roads. Thanks to that, the roads were wider, more spacious, cleaner, and more convenient to travel.

Mr. Mua A Sung is also one of 13 prestigious people of Yen Bai province to attend and be honored at the Conference to Commend and honor advanced models as prestigious people in ethnic minority areas nationwide in 2023, organized by the Ethnic Committee.

Bright spot in new rural construction

In addition to the above-mentioned prestigious people, in Yen Bai province, there are hundreds of prestigious people who have contributed to building the new rural areas, such as: Mr. Hoang Dinh Thang, Tay ethnic group, born in 1948, Dai Phac commune, Van Yen district, who mobilized religious people to donate thousands of square meters of land to build rural roads; Mr. Lo Minh Tam, Thai ethnic group, born in 1947, Pu Trang ward, Nghia Lo town, who donated 700 square meters of land and many working days to build village roads; Mr. Duong Quoc Mong, Tay ethnic group, born in 1947, Lieu Do commune, Luc Yen district, who donated 1,000 square meters of land and demolished solid fences to build inter-village roads;

It can be affirmed that, with positive contributions in propaganda and mobilization work, the team of Prestigious People has positively impacted the process of building new rural areas in Yen Bai province. Thanks to that, in 2019, Tran Yen district was the first district in the province as well as in the Northwest region to meet new rural standards. Up to now, Yen Bai province has 110/150 communes meeting new rural standards, equal to 73.3% of the total number of communes in the province; 37 communes have met advanced new rural standards, 11 communes have met model new rural standards; 4/9 district-level administrative units have been recognized as meeting new rural standards or completing the task of building new rural areas.
