Students “shine” at big shows

Every year, students of the Faculty of Fine Arts Design always have many opportunities to compete in major “tournaments”, regional, national and international exhibitions for professional sculptors. These are also typical exhibitions of projects that attract viewers, organized by students of the Graphic Design major. These are also professional fashion shows that “occupy” newspapers, radio stations… of students of the Fashion Design major.

The learning model for students to actively “engage” with their profession is the training strategy of Hanoi University of Architecture. This strategy is clearly demonstrated in exhibitions and fashion shows over the past time. The events of the school’s students always receive attention, interest and recognition from the artist community and viewers. Through competitions, exhibitions and shows, students are able to “shine”, demonstrate their abilities and learning achievements to viewers as real young designers and sculptors.

Ngo Hoang Ngan (Class 19TT2, Head of Fashion Club, Hanoi University of Architecture) shared: “The creativity, applicability, and novelty in students’ products are always highly appreciated. In my opinion, fashion products in particular and art design products in general are essential products of life.”

Every year, students of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design are able to express themselves in countless exciting activities of the faculty, the school as well as outside activities, in all areas from composition, art practice to extracurricular activities such as MC classes, sports activities or volunteer activities towards the community. At the same time, students of the faculty also have the opportunity to cultivate and update new knowledge at talk shows, specialized seminars...

Experience the theoretical learning method combined with life

With its multidisciplinary strengths, especially in architecture, the Faculty of Fine Arts Design is gradually asserting itself in the applied arts industry. Linking fine arts design with the vision of architectural design is the highlight that creates a difference in the learning process of students of the Faculty of Fine Arts Design, and is only available at Hanoi Architectural University.

Master - PhD Pham Thai Binh (Deputy Dean, Head of the Faculty of Fine Arts Design) said that the clearest proof of the school's correct orientation in training students majoring in fine arts in general and sculpture in particular is to bring fine arts into life, with the coordination of architects - sculptors/painters (2 in 1).

The “2 in 1” learning model is also clearly demonstrated through theoretical activities that always go hand in hand with practice, artistic creation in the real context of society. All 3 majors of the faculty are trained according to this method, along with practice workshops fully invested in tools and machinery, with an “open” learning space, students are guided by teachers to practice, “pass on the passion of the profession” right on the spot. Here, students are inspired, encouraged, and given conditions by teachers to maximize their creativity, design thinking, and other important professional skills.

Hanoi University of Architecture has been implementing cooperation with training programs, teaching art design with international universities, creating many learning advantages for students. At the same time, the school has also signed cooperation agreements with many brands, companies, businesses... Businesses will accompany the faculty in the training process, open up career opportunities, support students in practice hours, internship projects, organize performances, exhibitions and other professional activities.

During the project evaluation sessions and graduation project defense sessions, in addition to receiving enthusiastic comments from the faculty, students also “receive” many shares and comments from experts, designers, sculptors, and architects of large domestic enterprises and corporations. Many students of the faculty, right during the project evaluation sessions, have been recognized by the enterprises for the value of their works, and have signed design contracts with the authors of the collections.

In 2023, the Faculty of Fine Arts Design will expand its enrollment, including 2 groups H00 and H02 (instead of only group H00 as before), combined with aptitude test scores. This further proves the development of fine arts design industries with modern social life, while increasing opportunities for candidates who love and are passionate about applied arts, to have the opportunity to become a real artist in the future.
