Cao Thinh is one of the communes in Ngoc Lac district with large limestone resources. Currently, the commune has 12 mines exploiting limestone for construction materials and blocks for producing paving stones. Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh, Vice Chairman of Cao Thinh Commune People's Committee, said: The Commune People's Committee is the unit directly implementing measures to protect mineral resources, supervising the compliance with the law of units operating in mineral resource exploitation in the area. To carry out this task, Cao Thinh Commune promotes propaganda and dissemination of legal regulations related to minerals to the people, especially mining enterprises. Coordinate with functional forces to inspect mining sites, promptly detect and handle violations. Thanks to good management, in recent years, licensed mineral exploitation units in the commune have strictly implemented mining within the boundary and environmental protection measures.

According to statistics from the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ngoc Lac district, there are 29 mineral mines with valid mining licenses in the district. In order to improve the capacity of State management of mineral resources, in recent times, Ngoc Lac district has promoted the dissemination and propaganda of the Law on Minerals and other legal documents related to businesses and people in the area. Every year, the district organizes training courses on the management and protection of unexploited mineral resources in the area for officials and civil servants at district and commune levels, in order to raise awareness and responsibility in performing the task of managing and protecting mineral resources.
