On the morning of February 19, the Department of Culture and Sports held the inauguration ceremony of the additional exhibition room about Ho Chi Minh Square and organized a memorial tree planting at the simulated Chung mountain.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Hoang Nghia Hieu - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and comrades of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Ngoc Kim Nam - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province.

Before the inauguration ceremony, provincial leaders and delegates respectfully held a flower offering ceremony at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument and an incense offering ceremony at his shrine.

Over the past 20 years, Ho Chi Minh Square and Uncle Ho Statue in Vinh City have gradually affirmed their role and importance in the minds of the people of Nghe An and the whole country, worthy of being a key cultural and political project of the province, increasingly contributing positively to the propaganda and education of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, and educating the tradition of patriotism and revolution for all generations, especially the young generation.

On March 9, 2023, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued a policy and allocated funds to implement the investment project to build a supplementary exhibition room on Ho Chi Minh Square to continue to better promote the value of the project through preserving and conserving images and artifacts, helping visitors better understand the construction process of the project, the sacred affection that Uncle Ho had for his homeland Nghe An and the homeland had for beloved Uncle Ho; at the same time, contributing to continuing to promote studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style.

With the coordination of relevant departments, branches and units, the project was started construction urgently and completed on schedule, ensuring technical and aesthetic quality. Up to now, the project has been handed over and is qualified to be put into use and promote its value.
According to the approved design, the additional exhibition room on Ho Chi Minh Square was built at the foot of the Uncle Ho Statue, with an area of 156.4m2 , including a celebration area and an auxiliary corridor with an area of 84.4m2 .

The exhibition space for photos and artifacts covers an area of 72 square meters , displaying 116 photos, 6 excerpts, 24 documents and artifacts, 1 relief, with 3 themes: Theme 1: Uncle Ho with his homeland; Theme 2: The process of building the project; Theme 3: The work of protecting and promoting the value of the project.

In the exhibition area, there are also 2 touch screens, donated by the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City at a cost of 1.8 billion VND, to provide images, documents, and films about President Ho Chi Minh and related content.
Provincial leaders performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony and visited the additional exhibition room about Ho Chi Minh Square.


Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Director of Nghe An Department of Culture and Sports Tran Thi My Hanh affirmed: The additional exhibition room about Ho Chi Minh Square with many documents, images, artifacts, and sacred relics not only contributes to portraying Uncle Ho's feelings for Nghe An people but also shows the deep gratitude of the Party Committee and people of Nghe An towards beloved Uncle Ho. At the same time, it creates a tourist attraction for everyone when coming to the Square.


“Today’s inauguration ceremony of the additional exhibition hall will enrich and deepen the work of promoting the value of Ho Chi Minh Square. Building on the achievements, the Department of Culture and Sports will better organize activities to preserve and promote the value of Ho Chi Minh Cultural Heritage,” said the Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Nghe An.


In the coming time, Nghe An will adjust the planning, adding items such as: Digital Museum about Uncle Ho, outdoor exhibition spaces, reading culture space... creating more impressive highlights to attract tourists to the Square to spread more deeply the cultural values of Ho Chi Minh in his homeland.



On this occasion, in response to the "Tet tree planting festival to forever remember Uncle Ho", provincial leaders planted Bodhi and star apple trees at Chung mountain, a simulation of Ho Chi Minh Square, Vinh City.
