Nguyen Manh Duc (a former 9A3 student at Dich Vong Hau Secondary School), a male student who became "famous" on social media during the recent 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi , passed his first choice at Yen Hoa High School with 25.75 points (9.25 in math; 9.25 in English and 7.25 in literature). This is one of the top schools in Hanoi.

During the entrance exam to grade 10 of a public high school in Hanoi, Duc went to the Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted exam site with his little sister. He asked a volunteer student to look after his sister so he could go in to take the exam.

The story of a brother taking his younger sister to the exam because his mother was busy at work and had not finished her shift is known by many people and they secretly hope that the male student will get good exam results.

Previously, according to the leaders of Dich Vong Hau Secondary School (Cau Giay, Hanoi), Duc was a special student of the school. He had to drop out of school in the middle of the first semester of grade 8 due to family problems. But when he returned, Duc tried very hard to catch up with his friends. In the midterm test of grade 9, Duc achieved the highest score in grade 9 in math, literature, and English.

Not only does Duc study hard, he is also very responsible for his family, always worrying and taking care of his younger sister when his mother is away. During the entrance exams for grade 10, Duc always took his younger sister to the exam site.

Candidate who had appendectomy also passed public school exam

In addition to Nguyen Manh Duc, the recent 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi also had another special case: Nguyen Kim Giang, who had to have an appendectomy after the first exam. However, Giang still tried to take all the exams with the support of her family, medical staff and officers at the exam site.

According to information from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, Giang also had enough points to pass the first choice to enter Phung Khac Khoan High School - Thach That.

This year, nearly 102,000 candidates took the 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi, with 64% passing to public high schools. On July 4, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training announced the exam scores and admission scores for high schools.
