Over the past 5 years, Na Hang district has performed well the tasks of ethnic affairs and ethnic policies. Ethnic minorities in the district have well implemented the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies, always united, strived, promoted internal strength and made many important contributions to the achievements of socio-economic development, Party building and the political system.
The rural appearance of ethnic minority areas in the district has improved a lot. Over the past 5 years, ethnic minorities in the district have contributed resources to build new rural areas with an estimated value of nearly 88 billion VND. The poverty rate of the district according to the poverty standard for the period 2016 - 2020 decreased by 4.12%/year; according to the multidimensional poverty standard for the period 2021 - 2025, it decreased by an average of 9%/year.
In the period of 2024-2029, the District People's Committee sets the following goals: Striving for the overall poverty rate to decrease by an average of over 6%/year; the poverty rate of ethnic minority households to decrease by over 6.8%/year; the rate of ethnic minorities of working age receiving vocational training to reach over 70%.
The whole district strives for 100% of communes and towns to have asphalted or concreted roads to the center; by 2029, over 90.9% of communes will meet new rural standards; over 90% of people will have their health managed and use primary care services; the expanded vaccination rate will reach over 95%; the rate of children under 5 years old with stunting will be under 16%; 90% of rural residents will have access to clean water.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen The Giang acknowledged the results the district has achieved in ethnic affairs and ethnic policies; acknowledged the role of ethnic minorities in the overall development of the locality in the past period.
He emphasized that in order to complete the set targets, the political system at all levels of the district needs to continue to strengthen the implementation of political and ideological education, mobilize ethnic minorities to comply with the Party's guidelines and policies and laws of the State; grasp the thoughts and aspirations of ethnic minorities to promptly take measures to remove difficulties and obstacles for the grassroots.
The district has effectively utilized and integrated resources to create a breakthrough in socio-economic development for ethnic minority areas. At the same time, the entire district has promoted patriotic emulation movements in ethnic minority areas; focused on propaganda, preservation, and development of cultural values, identities, and traditions of ethnic groups; raised vigilance and prevented, handled, and promptly resolved plots and tricks of hostile forces exploiting ethnic and religious issues.
On this occasion, the Chairman of the District People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 12 collectives and 44 individuals with outstanding achievements in the cause of great solidarity among ethnic groups, implementing socio-economic development goals, ensuring national defense and security in the area in the period of 2019-2024. The Congress elected 17 outstanding delegates to attend the 4th Provincial Congress of Ethnic Minorities.
