On the evening of December 2, many areas in Ho Chi Minh City experienced rain during rush hour in districts 5, 8, Binh Thanh, Tan Binh and Thu Duc City.

In Tan Binh district, the rain poured down at around 5pm, lasting about 30 minutes, appearing right at rush hour, leaving many people unable to react.

On Cong Hoa Street, many people had to stop their motorbikes to put on raincoats, causing chaos on the street. Because the road was slippery, it was dark, and there were many vehicles, it was difficult to move through this section of the road.

The Southern Hydrometeorological Station said that in the afternoon of the same day, thunderstorms developed and caused rain with thunderstorms and lightning in Binh Chanh district, Go Vap district, district 12, and Thu Duc city.

According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, thunderstorms continue to develop, causing showers, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in the above districts. Then expanding to other neighboring areas. Rainfall is generally from 2-10mm, in some places over 13mm. During thunderstorms, beware of tornadoes, hail and strong gusts of wind of about level 5-7 (8-17m/s), heavy rain causing localized flooding.

Currently, the rainy season in the South, including Ho Chi Minh City, has completely ended. However, in December there will still be unseasonal rains.

The weather forecast for the South from December 2 to 7 will be affected by two weather systems: the southern edge of the cold high pressure tongue weakens; moves eastward and the northern low pressure trough with an axis at about 4-7 degrees north latitude tends to slightly lift the axis to the north.

During this time, the Southern region will have an unseasonal rain with the possibility of widespread rain, with some places having moderate rain and locally heavy rain.

From December 8 to 10, the weather in the Southern region will be dry or have only a few places with small, almost insignificant rains. The lowest temperature will decrease, and the weather will be chilly at night and early morning.
