On July 22, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang signed Decision No. 702/QD-TTg on recognizing A Luoi district, Thua Thien Hue province as escaping poverty by 2024.

Accordingly, A Luoi district was recognized as escaping poverty in 2024 and was removed from the list of poor districts for the period 2021-2025 in Appendix I issued with Decision No. 353/QD-TTg dated March 15, 2022 of the Prime Minister approving the list of poor districts and communes with special difficulties in coastal and island areas for the period 2021-2025 and the appendix attached to Decision No. 880/QD-TTg dated July 22, 2022 of the Prime Minister approving a number of contents to support 22 poor districts in 17 provinces to escape poverty and special difficulties for the period 2022-2025.

This Decision assigns the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province to prioritize allocating local budget to continue completing the infrastructure system of A Luoi district to serve people's lives, production, trade, circulation of goods and provide basic social services, ensuring sustainability.

The People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province was also assigned to direct the People's Committee of A Luoi district to continue to fully implement poverty reduction policies, maintain and improve the quality and results achieved by the criteria for determining poor districts in the period of 2021-2025, focusing on the criteria for the rate of poor and near-poor households according to the multidimensional poverty standard in the period of 2022-2025; improve the socio-economic development level of commune-level administrative units in the district and the income of poor households, near-poor households, and average income in the district.

The People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province is assigned to take full responsibility before the law, the Prime Minister, inspection and auditing agencies for the accuracy of information, data, content and implementation of solutions committed to proposing recognition of A Luoi district as a poverty-free district in 2024.
