Speaking at the reception, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to the Strategic Partnership with the Philippines, hoping that the two sides will continue to promote cooperation in all fields of politics, economics, national defense and security as well as culture, education, and people-to-people exchange, while promoting new areas of cooperation on the parliamentary channel.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly said that the relationship between the two countries has been increasingly developing effectively and substantially over the past half century in all fields, towards the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Strategic Partnership in 2025 and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2026.
In particular, political relations are increasingly close and trustworthy with comprehensive and open cooperation in all fields, increasing delegation exchanges at all levels and channels, including cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries.
Defense-security cooperation and maritime cooperation have been actively implemented. Cooperation in other important areas such as culture, tourism, education-training, people-to-people exchange, etc. has achieved many positive results.
At the same time, cooperation between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Philippine National Assembly has been increasingly deepened, especially since the Philippine Senate and House of Representatives passed resolutions to further strengthen the Philippine-Vietnamese parliamentary relationship.

In addition, the Vice President of the National Assembly hopes that the Philippine National Assembly and Government will continue to pay attention and support in this field; the Philippine National Assembly's Education Reform Committee will continue to promote cooperation between the two countries' parliaments, open up new cooperation, both bilateral and multilateral; promote delegation exchanges and cooperation between leaders and specialized agencies of the National Assembly; and exchange experiences in parliamentary activities, especially in the fields of education and training.
Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai emphasized that the Vietnamese National Assembly is ready to share experiences in the process of reforming Vietnam's education system; support expanding cooperation between the two countries in the field of education, further improving the quality of education in particular, contributing to the economic, cultural and social development of the two countries in general.
Thanking the Vice President of the National Assembly for taking the time to welcome the delegation, Mr. Sherwin T. Gatchalian said that the opportunity for cooperation in education and training between the two countries is huge.
At the same time, it is hoped that the two sides will continue to prioritize and encourage the promotion of exchange and cooperation activities in culture, education and tourism, in order to further enhance understanding and solidarity between the people of the two countries, and consolidate bilateral cooperation in an increasingly comprehensive and substantive manner.
