Sparkling opening night of Bac Kan Culture

The opening performance was "By the Cau River, I sing Then verses".

With the theme “Song Cau – Where the source converges”, the art program led the audience through a cultural and historical journey imbued with love for the land and people. Each performance is a delicate slice, sometimes profound with Then lyrics, winding rhythms, sometimes exciting with the festival colors of Tac Xinh, Quan Ho, Cheo Co or Chau Van… The combination of folk, ethnic and modern music has created a unique harmony, clearly depicting the identity of each locality along the Cau River – from Bac Kan at the source to Bac Ninh, Hanoi, Hai Duong at the downstream.

Floating stage on Cau River brings many emotions to the audience.

“I feel like I am enjoying a story through music – the story of Cau River, of connection, of spreading culture and of a sustainable future development” – Ms. Chung Thi Tuyet, Duc Xuan ward, Bac Kan city shared.

Perhaps many audiences share that feeling, when the story was told through performances rich in imagery and meaning: "Bac Kan still has Then verses", "Bac Kan's daughter", "Thunder echoes from Nhu Nguyet river", "Xam Ha Noi", "Gia Co Doi Thuong Ngan" or modern compositions such as "Noong oi", "Song Cau shines for thousands of years"...

The appearance of famous young artists such as RamC, Minh Hang, Phuc Bo, Khanh Chi... along with professional and non-professional actors from many provinces and cities brought a fresh, modern breeze while still maintaining cultural depth in each performance.

Comrade Dinh Quang Tuyen, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of Bac Kan Culture - Tourism Week 2025 shared: Cau River is not only a flow of water, but also a flow of history, culture, memories and aspirations. Through this event, we hope to spread the cultural values of Bac Kan and other provinces, and at the same time create a foundation for connection and cooperation to develop tourism in the Cau River basin.

In the crowd of spectators filling Song Cau Walking Street, Ms. Trieu Thi Lanh, a resident of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai ward, Bac Kan city, emotionally shared: "I have never seen Bac Kan so beautiful and bustling. The stage on the river, the lights and sounds are all very impressive. Especially when listening to Then, interspersed with Xam singing, Cheo singing... I feel proud because the national culture is so rich".

As for Pham Le Quynh, a tourist from Hanoi, the biggest impression was the spirit of connection in each performance: We clearly saw the respect for heritage and the hospitality of the Bac Kan people. Tonight really brought deep emotions and a very good start to the journey to explore this land.

The art night ended but the echoes still lingered, flowing forever like the source of the Cau River. Bac Kan Culture - Tourism Week 2025 still has many attractive activities ahead: Performance of typical intangible cultural heritage, regional specialty fair, art photo exhibition, grassroots sports tournaments, investment promotion seminars and ecological and cultural experience routes associated with the locality...
