"Dive" in mud after the flood

At around 1:30 p.m., the water at Vuc Bong Strait receded. SGGP reporters crossed the Strait to reach the upper communes. However, only a section of the road in Con Cuong town (formerly) was dry, while the rest of the route, reporters fell into a "maze" of mud, making it difficult to turn back.

With the intention of crossing the muddy road to Khe Bo, Tuong Duong, but "powerless". Along the way, motorbikes, although moving very slowly, fell over. Meanwhile, cars had to follow each other in one direction, because if they deviated even a little, they would be "thrown" into the river or ditch by the slippery mud.

Arriving at Khe Thoi area (Chau Khe commune), thanks to an empty space, many vehicles turned back, some vehicles accidentally went up had to line up in a long line. The distance was only about 6km but it took more than 1 hour.

Along the road through Tien Thanh and Quyet Tien villages (Con Cuong commune), people, houses, and trees were submerged in mud. The entire road now looked like it was made of mud. Damaged furniture was strewn about.

People were rushing to clean up the mud, everyone looked tired and dirty. Because there was no electricity, people could only use buckets and rudimentary tools such as brooms, shovels, etc. to clean up the mud. Authorities also mobilized excavators to help people, but with such a large amount of mud, human and machine power seemed to have difficulty keeping up before the mud thickened. Military and police forces were also mobilized to help people.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Hong (Quyet Tien village) and his relatives are scraping mud and moving mud-soaked furniture out of their house. Mr. Hong sighed: “I have never been as tired because of floods as I am this time. All my furniture is damaged and lost. There is still no electricity. The well water is covered with mud and cannot be used.”
