April 30 and May 1 holidays: Tourists to Da Nang increased by more than 50% compared to the same period

With many cultural, sports and tourism activities and events organized in combination with favorable weather, the city attracts a large number of tourists to visit and travel during the April 30 and May 1 holidays. The total number of visitors is estimated at 610,000, an increase of more than 50% over the same period in 2024; total revenue from tourists is estimated at VND 2,426 billion, an increase of more than 50% over the same period.

Many attractive cultural and entertainment events

To serve residents and tourists, the city organizes more than 30 cultural, artistic, tourism, physical education and sports activities and events, including many large-scale, novel and attractive activities.

Attracting a large number of people and tourists is the series of events of the 2025 Sea Tourism season opening program with the theme "Blue Wave Dance" at the East Sea Park, Son Tra Peninsula, My An, My Khe, T18 beaches, Nguyen Tat Thanh beach route. During 5 days, the city held many attractive activities such as the 2025 Da Nang International Sea Rescue Competition; the 2025 Sub DANANG COLOR RACE Competition, the "Overcoming the Waves of Da Nang Summer 2025" sea swimming competition; artistic kite performances; sea flower street, display of artistic check-in models; beach sports festival; sea sports performance... Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong (tourist from Hanoi) shared: “I really like the sea here because it is beautiful and clean. On this occasion, the beach in Da Nang has many exciting and attractive entertainment activities. My older child is excited to participate in sea sports games, while the younger child is absorbed in colorful and funny-shaped kites. This is a family vacation that makes me feel relaxed and happy.”

In addition, the city has an outdoor 3D Mapping screening event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and the reunification of the country at the front of the Da Nang Museum (42 Bach Dang) attracting public attention. Due to the large demand of the people and tourists, in addition to the 2 screenings every night on April 29, April 30 and May 1 as planned, the organizers added a 3rd screening on the evening of April 30. Participating in this event, Tran Phuong Linh (18 years old, Hai Chau district) said that this was the first time she saw such vivid historical images, she felt proud and understood more about the process of building and developing her homeland. Revenue increased by more than 50%

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the total number of visitors to Da Nang during the 5-day holiday is estimated at 610,000, an increase of more than 50% over the same period in 2024. The number of overnight visitors is estimated at 230,395, of which international visitors are estimated at 105,000, an increase of 44%. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at VND 2,426 billion, an increase of more than 50% over the same period in 2024. In particular, at Son Tra peninsula, it is estimated that there will be about 29,000 visitors from April 30 to May 3, an increase of 10% over the same period in 2024, focusing on some routes and points such as Yet Kieu - Ban Co peak, Linh Ung pagoda and inland waterways along the peninsula. The city's central beaches include My Khe, My An, Phuoc My, Man Thai... with a large number of visitors, a sharp increase compared to the same period in 2024. Room occupancy is estimated at 85%, especially from April 30 to May 2, most facilities reached 100% capacity (including central areas, with a high concentration of tourists or areas far from the center such as Nguyen Tat Thanh beach route, Lien Chieu area, Hoa Bac area, Hoa Ninh).

From April 30 to May 4, there were 654 flights to Da Nang, an increase of about 12% compared to normal days, with an average of about 130 flights per day (52 international flights and 78 domestic flights). The number of visitors to Da Nang by train during this holiday reached more than 13,600. Da Nang welcomed a cruise ship to Tien Sa port (AIDASTELLA) bringing more than 2,000 multinational visitors (USA, UK, Germany, Canada, Netherlands...) to visit famous destinations of the city such as Ngu Hanh Son, Linh Ung Pagoda - Son Tra, Museum of Cham Sculpture...

Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that in addition to organizing many cultural, sports and tourism activities and events, the city continues to implement a stimulus program to attract tourists to Da Nang in 2025 called "Enjoy Da Nang - Diverse Experience" with many free incentives and attractive service discounts for international and domestic tourists, or international tourists returning to Da Nang. The program is implemented synchronously on the implementation channels: website enjoydanang.vn, fanpage Danang FantastiCity, tourist information counter - arrival terminals of domestic and international airports in Da Nang, Tourist Support Center, OTA Traveloka channel, travel companies participating in the group selling stimulus combos... contributing to promoting destinations and attracting tourists to Da Nang.

Safety, security and order for tourists are guaranteed.
The inspection and supervision of activities related to culture, sports, tourism and measures to ensure service for tourists at tourist areas, spots, and tourist service establishments are carried out strictly and seriously, maintaining the image of a friendly and safe destination. The Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches has arranged forces to strengthen rescue duty, ensure security and order along the two coastal routes of Hoang Sa - Vo Nguyen Giap - Truong Sa, Nguyen Tat Thanh Street and Son Tra Peninsula. The Tourist Support Center has received 2,700 visitors at the office and information counters at the airport, supported 68 calls, 25 emails, 115 messages from visitors via social networking applications...

During the April 30 and May 1 holidays, shopping at supermarkets and large traditional markets in the city was bustling with high purchasing power; food service establishments ensured service for tourists... During the April 30 and May 1 holidays, Han Market (Hai Chau District) welcomed nearly 10,000 visitors every day to visit and shop, an increase of more than 50% compared to normal days. Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh, Head of the Han Market Management Board, said that security, order, environmental sanitation, food safety, commercial civilization... during the holidays at the market were ensured, best serving people and tourists. Mr. Nguyen Van Ha, Deputy Manager of the Lien Chieu District Markets, said that purchasing power at markets in the district during the holidays increased by about 20-30% compared to normal days. The markets were bustling throughout the holiday. Representatives of some supermarkets also said that the number of customers shopping at supermarkets increased by about 40% compared to normal days.
