Ensuring security and order during the April 30 holiday

Carrying out the peak period of fighting against all kinds of crimes, especially drug-related crimes and robberies, to ensure security and order before, during and after the April 30 holiday, the anti-drug and anti-crime force of the city's Border Guard deployed a plan, closely monitored the area, increased patrols and controls in key areas and routes, and arrested and handled many cases of law violations right in the first days of the campaign.

Colonel Tran Cong Thanh, Commander of the City Border Guard, said that in the first months of 2025, the situation of criminal activities in general, especially drug crimes in the coastal border areas of the city, has become complicated. The illegal buying, selling and using of drugs is mainly small-scale but increasingly sophisticated. The subjects often rent motels and hotels for temporary residence and hide drugs before taking them away for consumption...

Typically, at 4:20 p.m. on April 27, in Tho Quang Ward, Son Tra District, Son Tra Border Guard Station coordinated with Tho Quang Ward Police to catch Nguyen Van Hung (nicknamed "Hung Ga", born in 1987, Nai Hien Dong Ward, Son Tra District) red-handed for illegally storing drugs, seizing about 3 grams of synthetic drugs in the form of crystal meth. At 2:20 p.m. the same day, on Dien Bien Phu Street, Thanh Khe Dong Ward, Thanh Khe District, the Drug and Crime Prevention Team (Phu Loc Border Guard Station) inspected a car with license plate number: 92H-01... driven by Mr. D. (Dien Tho Commune, Dien Ban Town, Quang Nam Province). Through inspection, the authorities discovered that in the back seat of Mr. D.'s car, he was carrying a blue sack containing 17 boxes of square-shaped explosive fireworks (about 30kg). The unit temporarily detained the evidence and vehicle and invited Mr. D. about the unit to work

During the investigation, Mr. D. confessed that he had hidden 2 boxes of fireworks (about 4kg) at his house in Dien Tho commune, Dien Ban town and voluntarily handed them over to the Border Guard. Implementing the professional plan to fight and prevent all types of crimes, at 4:00 p.m. on April 15, at group 109, Hoa Minh ward (Lien Chieu district), the Drug and Crime Prevention Department (City Border Guard) coordinated with Hai Van Border Guard Station to catch Nguyen Le Huy (born 2005, Hoa Tho Dong ward, Cam Le district) red-handed for illegally storing drugs. The seized evidence was about 100g of synthetic drugs and some other related evidence.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Ho Chinh Huu, Deputy Head of the Drug and Crime Prevention Department, on this occasion, the City Border Guard Command directed the Drug and Crime Prevention Department to coordinate with departments, offices and units to focus on directing, strengthening forces and means, closely coordinating with functional forces, synchronously deploying preventive measures, and resolutely fighting to curb and reduce crimes and law violations, maintain security and order in the city's coastal border area; improve the effectiveness of detecting, arresting, investigating and handling crimes, and dismantling large-scale criminal rings and organizations, especially drug crimes; smuggling, trade fraud, illegal transportation of goods across the coastal border area; buying, selling, transporting, storing and using weapons and explosives; illegal entry and exit; and resolutely not allowing complicated incidents of security and order to occur in the coastal border area of the city.
