Continuing the investment promotion program in Korea, this afternoon, April 24, at the SK E&S Company Office in Seoul, the Quang Tri Provincial delegation led by Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee and T&T Group Joint Stock Company (Vietnam) and SK E&S Energy Company under SK Group of Korea on investment, trade, energy conversion and green growth cooperation.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung said that the Provincial People's Committee has agreed in principle to allow the consortium of T&T Group Joint Stock Company and SK E&S Company to research, survey and prepare documents to convert the Quang Tri thermal power project using coal to using more environmentally friendly fuel, and at the same time determine the objectives, scale and investment capital; project implementation schedule...

This is one of the important contents for the parties to cooperate in development, promote the competent authority to approve the project's technology conversion from coal fuel to using LNG fuel; propose to update and supplement the LNG project to the Plan for implementing the 8th Power Plan to submit to the competent authority for consideration and approval as a basis for implementing the next steps.

After specific discussions, with the goodwill to strengthen and enhance cooperation in investment, trade and green growth between Quang Tri province, T&T Group Joint Stock Company and SK E&S Company, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding.

Accordingly, it was agreed to strengthen information exchange and cooperation on investment, trade, energy conversion and green growth in Quang Tri province, specifically in 5 areas: Cooperation and promotion of the conversion of Quang Tri thermal power project from using coal fuel to using more environmentally friendly LNG fuel.

Cooperate in developing low-carbon emission reduction projects, including green hydrogen production projects. Cooperate in implementing projects related to carbon credits. Cooperate in researching and establishing a central LNG warehouse. Promote investment research or support Quang Tri province in calling for investment in other potential and sustainable development areas in Quang Tri to accompany the Quang Tri provincial government in realizing sustainable development goals according to the Quang Tri Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, approved by the Prime Minister of Vietnam.

Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee commits to create favorable conditions for T&T Group and SK E&S in the process of research, survey, and preparation of investment proposal documents in accordance with the provisions of Vietnamese law. T&T and SK E&S commit to closely coordinate with Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee in the process of survey, research, planning, mobilizing finance, technology, and human resources to implement the agreed contents in this memorandum.
