On July 2, the Central Economic Committee coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies to organize a scientific workshop on "Orientation, tasks and solutions to continue strengthening the Party's leadership over social policy credit in the new context".

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hong Son, Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission; Mr. Le Van Loi, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics; Mr. Dao Minh Tu, Member of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies, Permanent Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam; Mr. Duong Quyet Thang, Member of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies, General Director of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies co-chaired the workshop.

The workshop was also attended by more than 200 delegates including representatives of a number of departments, ministries and branches; representatives of local leaders; experts, scientists, managers; universities and businesses.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hong Son, Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission, emphasized that the goal of achieving social progress and equality is a consistent and consistent policy of the Party. Social policy credit is a creative solution, deeply humane and suitable to the reality of Vietnam.

According to Mr. Son, Directive No. 40-CT/TW, dated November 22, 2014 of the 11th Party Central Committee Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership over social policy credit, has met the people's aspirations, strengthened the people's trust in the Party and the State, contributed to achieving the goal of rapid and sustainable poverty reduction, job creation, human resource development, narrowing the development gap, ensuring social security, political stability, ensuring national defense, security and socio-economic development in the direction of socialism.

“After 10 years of implementing Directive No. 40-CT/TW, although many encouraging results have been achieved, social policy credit activities still have many limitations, difficulties and problems that need to be overcome,” said Mr. Son.

To have more scientific and practical basis to serve the construction of the Summary Report of Directive No. 40-CT/TW to submit to the Secretariat, Mr. Son suggested that delegates focus on discussing and clarifying the meaning, role and importance of social policy credit in implementing the Party's guidelines and policies on developing the country in the direction of socialism, thereby pointing out the creativity, profound humanity and socialism of social policy credit.

In addition, focus on contents such as the role of social policy credit in promoting economic development, creating jobs, increasing income, ensuring social security. Implementing national target programs; ensuring social order and safety; implementing the Comprehensive Financial Strategy. Analyzing, discussing, and clarifying further the results achieved, limitations, difficulties, obstacles, causes and lessons learned in the process of implementing Directive No. 40-CT/TW and Conclusion No. 06-KL/TW such as difficulties in capital sources, mechanisms, policies for lending subjects, lending levels, lending fields or coordination between relevant parties.

At the same time, Mr. Son proposed to analyze, discuss and clarify the new domestic and international context, especially the domestic context and issues arising for social policy credit to contribute to achieving the set goals of sustainable poverty reduction, job creation, improving the quality of human resources, protecting the environment and effectively adapting to climate change, stabilizing society, and promoting socio-economic development.

Mr. Son also asked the delegates to propose tasks and solutions to improve the quality, efficiency and sustainability of social policy credit, especially new viewpoints, mechanisms and policies to continue strengthening the Party's leadership over social policy credit in the new context; effectively implementing the solutions proposed in Directive 40-CT/TW and Conclusion No. 62-KL/TW.

On the basis of this workshop, the Central Economic Committee will record and absorb all opinions, discussions, and suggestions as well as fully study relevant documents, presentations, and specialized reports to synthesize, filter, and serve the task of developing a Project to summarize Directive No. 40-CT/TW dated November 22, 2014 of the Secretariat of the 11th tenure.
