Urgently deploy measures to respond to tropical depression in the East Sea

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - On August 8, the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense (PCTT,PTDS&TKCN) of Thanh Hoa province issued Official Dispatch No. 14 on responding to tropical depression (ATNĐ) in the East Sea.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, early this morning (August 8), the low pressure area in the North East Sea has strengthened into a tropical depression.

At 7:00 a.m., the center of the tropical depression was at about 19.0 degrees North latitude; 118.2 degrees East longitude, in the sea area east of the North East Sea. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression was level 6 (39-49 km/h), gusting to level 8; moving in the West Northwest direction at a speed of about 10-15 km/h.

Pursuant to Official Dispatch No. 5302/CD-BNNMT dated August 8, 2025 of the Minister of Agriculture and Environment on responding to natural disasters in the East Sea, the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue requests the Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of coastal communes and wards, localities with fishing activities, relevant departments, branches and units to urgently implement the following contents:

Closely monitor the developments of tropical depressions; strictly manage vessels at sea; notify owners of vessels, captains of ships and boats operating at sea of the location, direction of movement and developments of tropical depressions to proactively avoid, escape or not move into dangerous areas. Dangerous areas in the next 24 hours: From 18.0-21.0 degrees North latitude, 113.0-118.5 degrees East longitude (dangerous areas are adjusted in forecast bulletins).

Prepare forces and means to deploy rescue work when a situation occurs.

Thanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio - Television, Thanh Hoa Coastal Information Station and grassroots information systems increase information on the developments of natural disasters to authorities at all levels, owners of vehicles operating at sea and people to proactively prevent and respond.

The provincial Hydrometeorological Station closely monitors, forecasts, warns, and promptly informs about the developments of natural disasters to proactively deploy response measures.

Departments, branches and sectors, according to their functions, state management tasks and assigned tasks, proactively direct and coordinate with localities in responding to natural disasters. Organize on-duty shifts seriously and regularly report to the Standing Office of the Provincial Command for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and the Standing Office of the Provincial Command for Civil Defense, Natural Disaster Response and Search and Rescue.
