Vietnam Railways has just organized two trains named “Spring Train” with the journey from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City and vice versa. In which, train SE1 departs from Hanoi station at 22:10 and train SE4 departs from Saigon station at 19:30 on January 28.

On these two trains, Vietnam Railways has arranged two specially designed, unique community cars with the exterior painted with paintings related to traditional cultural activities during Tet such as flower markets, calligraphy, etc. These two community cars are also where community cultural activities take place throughout the journey.

A special feature on the “Spring Train - SE1” is that passengers will have the opportunity to participate in a “mobile” creative camp on the train with artists from all over the North, Central and South regions, and have the opportunity to receive portrait drawings, participate in clay modeling, and draw with artists on the first day of the new year…

Putting community cars imbued with Vietnamese culture into passenger service is not only part of the target product chain of "trains as check-in points, stations as destinations", but the Vietnamese railway industry also wants to participate in promoting traditional culture, promoting Vietnamese tourism and bringing culture into business activities.

As of January 28, 434,205 tickets were sold, with revenue reaching VND 361 billion, reaching 88% in passenger volume and 79% in revenue compared to Tet 2024; passengers buying train tickets online accounted for 58% of total tickets sold.

During the Lunar New Year, the railway industry used 54 trains, regularly running 7 pairs of passenger trains running between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (Thong Nhat passenger train) and 9 pairs of regional passenger trains.
