On the evening of May 20, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Nagavara Ramaroa Narayana Murthy, former Chairman and Founder of Infosys Group (India). This is India's leading information technology group, with a capitalization of up to 70 billion USD, more than 320,000 employees and revenue in 2023 reaching more than 18 billion USD.

Welcoming Mr. Narayana Murthy's visit and work with Vietnamese partners in the field of information technology, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his impression of the scale, role and position of Infosys Group, as well as Mr. Narayana Murthy's role in the information technology and software market of India in particular and the world in general.

Informing that India is a top priority in Vietnam's foreign policy, the Prime Minister was pleased with the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership. Vietnam-India has been constantly strengthened and developed in various fields; recently, the Prime Minister and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have had a number of bilateral meetings, agreeing to continue to further promote economic-trade-investment and scientific-technological cooperation, commensurate with the potential and stature of the relationship between the two countries.

Providing information on the country's development orientation and the economic situation in Vietnam, the Prime Minister said that Vietnam identifies digital economy, knowledge economy, and circular economy as key orientations in the important tasks of the Socio-Economic Development Strategy. Vietnam is promoting the development of a strategy on research, application, and development of artificial intelligence human resources to meet the needs of businesses and the labor market.

Mr. Narayana Murthy expressed his honor and thanked the Prime Minister for taking the time to receive the delegation; expressed his good impression and admiration for Vietnam in both the struggle for national independence and the construction and development of the country, especially the socio-economic development achievements of Vietnam in recent years. Noting that India has developed the information technology industry very early and Vietnam also has world-class technology enterprises such as FPT..., Mr. Narayana Murthy said that this is a foundation and an extremely favorable environment to promote cooperation in the technology field between the two countries.

According to Mr. Narayana Murthy, the three important things for business success are sales, financial control and human resources; he believes that Vietnam will continue to be more successful in the software sector. Infosys considers Vietnam a very reliable partner in the digital age, with high-quality, talented and knowledgeable human resources.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the very effective discussion and dialogue between Mr. Narayana Murthy and Vietnamese companies, experts and students; said that on the basis of the good relationship with India, Vietnam welcomes, is ready to create favorable conditions and hopes that large Indian corporations will invest and cooperate long-term in Vietnam in the fields of digital economy, information technology, software industry, artificial intelligence and semiconductors. The Prime Minister hopes that Infosys will invest and cooperate with Vietnam through specific projects and products, in the spirit of "harmonious benefits, shared risks" and with the "3 together" viewpoint: Listening and understanding between enterprises, the State and the people; sharing vision and action for economic development in general and green development in particular; working together, enjoying together, winning together and developing together.

The two sides shared experiences, inspirational stories, innovation, sustainable development, team building and corporate culture; opportunities for the Vietnamese IT industry and Vietnam-India cooperation in this field.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed that India in general and Infosys in particular, as well as Mr. Narayana Murthy and Indian experts, support Vietnam in capital mobilization, especially public-private cooperation in developing the fields of information technology, software industry, artificial intelligence, semiconductors; share experiences, thinking, methodologies, technology transfer; cooperate in human resource training; share management experiences; perfect institutions and laws in the fields of information technology, software industry, artificial intelligence, semiconductors; support Vietnamese enterprises to participate in the global production and supply chain in this field.

The former Chairman of Infosys Group agreed with the Prime Minister's opinions; highly appreciated Vietnam's vision in digital transformation and digital economy; said that Infosys is ready to cooperate and accompany Vietnam, including FPT Group, in developing the information technology industry, innovation, big data, artificial intelligence... at the request of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

* In the afternoon of the same day, in Hoa Lac, Hanoi, Mr. Narayana Murthy had a discussion with the Vietnamese information technology community. With the connection of FPT - Top 50 information technology service companies in Asia, "Legend" of the Indian information technology industry, Narayana Murthy shared his experiences and inspirational stories with managers, experts and business leaders in the information technology industry. This event was led by Chairman of the Board of Directors of FPT Corporation Truong Gia Binh, contributing to strongly affirming the deep cooperation between Vietnamese and Indian information technology enterprises, as well as Vietnam's position on the world information technology map.

At the event, Mr. Narayana Murthy shared his practical experiences in business, management, and building corporate culture, which helped him and his colleagues turn Infosys into a legend in the Indian IT industry. He also discussed with the Vietnamese IT community about promoting innovation in businesses, the development of new technology trends, and opportunities for the Vietnamese IT industry.

According to Mr. Narayana Murthy, the three important things for business success are sales, financial control and human resources. He also believes that Vietnam will continue to be more successful in the software sector and that great things are coming to Vietnam; affirming that businesses like FPT will help Vietnam realize its national potential.

“FPT achieved $1 billion in revenue by 2023, and Infosys also achieved the same feat around the same time. Therefore, I have faith that FPT will reach the next milestone much faster, with a lot of determination, courage and continuous efforts. FPT is and will contribute significantly to the future growth of Vietnam,” Mr. Narayana Murthy emphasized.

Sharing the above comment of Mr. Narayana Murthy, Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT Board of Directors said, “India, Infosys has inspired FPT, Vietnam. 24 years ago, FPT came to India to learn how the country became a software powerhouse. And it was Narayana Murthy who inspired us with absolute confidence, Vietnam is a special country and Vietnam can develop software for the world”.
