Mr. Nguyen Thanh Anh, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Education Publishing House, Deputy Director of Education Publishing House in Ho Chi Minh City, said: "Implementing the direction of the Ministry of Education and Training on providing textbooks for students in flood-affected areas, the Publishing House will devote all its efforts to carry out this task. In the immediate future, the Publishing House will immediately print 10 million additional textbooks. Combined with the number of books currently in stock, it will supply about 18 million textbooks to flood-affected areas. In the next 1 to 2 weeks, after having accurate data on the needs of localities, if there is still a shortage, the Publishing House will organize additional printing."

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Anh, the average printing cost for 10 million books is estimated to be less than 30 billion VND. All additional printed textbooks provided to students affected by storms and floods will be deployed in a spirit of service.

Mr. Ngo Tran Ai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Education Equipment Publishing Investment Joint Stock Company (VEPIC), said that in the current difficult situation, in order to support and create conditions for localities that were heavily damaged by storm No. 3 to have enough books for students to go to school, VEPIC Company has a policy of supporting a 50% reduction in textbook prices for schools and students in localities that were heavily affected by the storm. In addition, the company has donated books to poor students in Yen Bai province; directly supported students with 50% of the cover price for textbooks purchased to replace books damaged by storm No. 3.

The company will mobilize all the remaining textbooks in stock in the regions to transfer to Hanoi, which is 4.5 million copies. For some titles with low stock, VEPIC Company has promptly printed an additional 500,000 copies. These books currently being printed are expected to be in stock next week.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City branch of Hai Ha International Investment Joint Stock Company, said that in order to help students quickly return to their studies after the losses caused by natural disasters, the company has developed a policy to participate in the program to support the cost of purchasing books, pens, and school supplies for students. Currently, the company has set up gift packages with special subsidies using a shared price of only 40 - 50% of the actual price.
