Ms. Hoa (40 years old, Hoai Duc) said that she has been selling grapefruit flowers for ten years at Hang Be market (Hoan Kiem, Hanoi). This morning she imported 8 kg of grapefruit flowers to sell, and when they are gone, she will go back to get more. The grapefruit flower season usually lasts from around the 10th to the end of the first lunar month. Whenever it rains or is humid, many people like to buy this type of flower to keep in their house for fragrance, so even though it is expensive, many people still hunt to buy grapefruit flowers at the beginning of the season.

Most people buy grapefruit flowers to burn incense and go to pagodas, especially on the full moon day of January.

According to many sellers at Dong Xuan market, among the types of grapefruit flowers sold on the market, Dien grapefruit flowers are the most expensive, from 500,000 VND/kg. Sour grapefruit flowers with leaves and branches are sold for about 300,000 - 450,000 VND/kg.

Selected loose flowers are sold at 450,000 VND/kg.

Mr. Hai (Ba Dinh, Hanoi) said: “Grapefruit flowers are a familiar flower to my family after Tet. Having a bunch of grapefruit flowers in the house also helps dispel the current humid weather in Hanoi.”

Grapefruit flowers are often bought to worship at pagodas, burn incense, make tea, use as a perfume, or wash hair.

In Hanoi, each season has its own flower. After Tet, when peach blossoms have faded and apricot blossoms have withered, people in the capital prefer to enjoy grapefruit flowers until the end of January.
