On the evening of August 10, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his students experienced some breathtaking moments at the SEA V.League. Facing a very strong Thailand, they lost quickly after the first two sets and seemed certain to lose.

But then the Vietnamese women's volleyball team made an unbelievable comeback. The whole team played with determination and courage to defeat Thailand with a 3-2 victory, thereby winning the SEA V.League championship for the first time.

In addition to the fighting spirit, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet also left many tactical marks in this match. In particular, he boldly replaced Nguyen Thi Uyen with Vi Thi Nhu Quynh from set 3, helping the team play smoother.

Sharing after the historic victory over Thailand, the coach born in 1976 said: "Through previous losses to Thailand, we realized that this is the last chance to test our abilities, aiming for the goal of winning the SEA Games gold medal at the end of the year. Therefore, the coaching staff tried to encourage the players to play with determination.

In this match, we also want to test many options and train the players' mentality. Even though we lost 0-2, the whole team believes we will win."

Talking about bringing Nhu Quynh into the field, he said it was a plan to improve the attacking ability of the whole team. Nhu Quynh can share the scoring fire well with Bich Tuyen, while Thanh Thuy was pushed to the back row more to support the first step.

Mr. Kiet also shared that he felt happy with the historic victory. But according to him, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team still needs to aim for other goals.

He said: "This victory has two sides. The first side is that the athletes overcame the difficulty of winning against Thailand for the first time, so we need to praise them.

The second aspect is that after losing this match, the Thais will be more cautious and study the Vietnamese team more carefully. Therefore, we will also have to face bigger challenges. Anyway, I want to congratulate the athletes and hope they keep that spirit to look forward to the SEA Games at the end of the year."
