On November 27, the authorities of Vung Liem district (Vinh Long province) announced a decision to discipline Mr. Vo Huu Tran, Principal of Trung Hieu Secondary School, with a warning.

Accordingly, Mr. Tran was disciplined for not properly performing his responsibilities as a principal, allowing school violence to occur; the disciplinary period is 12 months.

Previously, at Trung Hieu Secondary School, there was an incident of 8 students beating up a classmate. After a disciplinary meeting, Trung Hieu Secondary School decided to suspend the 8 students involved for 1 school year (2024-2025). At the same time, the female student who filmed the incident was suspended for 2 weeks.

The Department of Education and Training determined that Mr. Vo Huu Tran, the principal, also committed violations.

Accordingly, Mr. Tran, as the head of the unit, did not strictly direct and manage the discipline and ethics of students. Specifically, in the last two school years, Trung Hieu Secondary School had many incidents of students fighting, causing injuries, and students insulting teachers.

The vice principal and teachers of Trung Hieu Secondary School repeatedly proposed to handle the student's violations, but Mr. Tran had no solution and did not handle the situation thoroughly.

When the incident of a group of students beating a friend and filming a clip recently occurred, Mr. Tran did not promptly handle the situation and report it to leaders at all levels; did not promptly notify the family of the beaten student to take support measures.
