Many young people participate in trekking activities at Pu Luong Nature Reserve.
This summer, Trinh Dinh Tuan, a student at Hong Duc University, decided to choose trekking tourism to experience the wild nature and explore the local culture of ethnic minorities in the mountainous area. Accordingly, Dinh Tuan chose to go to Pu Luong Nature Reserve, where there are many outstanding trekking spots such as Don village, Kho Muong village, Son - Ba - Muoi village and Pu Luong peak, or trekking through other villages such as Uoi village, Lan village... According to Dinh Tuan: Trekking through the forest paths in Pu Luong Nature Reserve always poses many challenges, because visitors have to cross paths with all kinds of terrain, most of which are hills and mountains. At any point, visitors can explore new things from nature with terraced fields undulating along the mountain slopes, immense green primeval forests, and Thai and Muong villages hidden in deep valleys. In addition, when arriving at the trekking point, visitors can also enjoy the feeling of conquering the peak and relaxing, breathing the fresh air. Besides, visitors can also set up camp at the destination to eat, rest or spend the night and then go down the mountain the next day.
In recent years, trekking activities are increasingly becoming a trend loved and chosen by young people, because besides exploring nature, participating in hiking, mountain climbing, and stream crossing activities that require effort and perseverance also helps young people practice their health and perseverance. Keeping up with that trend, at Pu Luong Nature Reserve, many travel companies have invested in building more trekking activities to serve tourists, especially young people. Participating in trekking activities, tourists can rent a complete package from means of transportation to porters, food and drink, or tourists can also provide their own means of transportation to the gathering point, then hire a guide to go up the mountain...
Recently, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa has announced 12 trekking routes to explore the natural beauty and culture of the mountainous region of the province such as trekking Pu Luong peak, Con Soi island, trekking Pu Luong heritage road... These routes are designed to attract both domestic and foreign tourists, while facilitating connections with travel businesses and investors.
In the hot summer weather, green tourism with camping and picnic activities close to nature is also chosen by many young people. Because this type of tourism not only helps balance emotions but also promotes a sense of responsibility for the environment - a factor that has been and is being valued in the consumer behavior of young people. Minh Hoa (Ham Rong ward) said: "Compared to other types of tourism such as sports tourism, backpacking tourism, trekking tourism..., green tourism brings new experiences and creates opportunities for young people to participate in community activities. Therefore, every summer I go to some green tourist destinations in the province to explore and experience such as: Ban Ma, Ben En National Park, Pu Luong Nature Reserve... At these tourist destinations, I experience the life of local people, participate in agricultural production activities, hike through the forest, cycle, learn about wild animals, enjoy traditional cuisine... When traveling to these destinations, I always bring my personal water bottle, reusable bags... At the same time, I actively learn and comply with the regulations on waste classification at the destinations to dispose of waste properly and keep the environment clean".
Talking about attracting young people to participate in green tourism activities, Mr. Vi Van Tien, a homestay business owner in Ma village (Thuong Xuan commune), said: "Grasping the trend of tourists, especially young people, who increasingly love green tourism, my family's homestay also focuses on developing green tourism through the production of tourism products using environmentally friendly natural materials such as rattan, bamboo, reed, leaves... In addition, we develop a variety of experiential activities for tourists such as exploring beautiful natural landscapes, fresh climate; participating in simple daily activities of the Thai ethnic people such as weaving brocade, cooking specialties, cultural exchanges...".
It can be seen that the trend of traveling of young people in the summer is increasing, not only participating in trekking activities, or exploring green tourism, many young people also choose to travel for relaxation, body care and "healing". Although the spending level of young people is not high, young tourists are the "tourism ambassadors" of destinations because of the enthusiasm, passion and excitement of youth. Besides, the habits, trends of using the internet, applying information technology, and checking-in preferences at destinations of young people also contribute to spreading the value and beauty of the destination faster and more widely. Therefore, to attract tourists, especially young people, travel agencies, tourist areas and spots in the province have been focusing on investing in building tour programs, developing diverse tourism products and services. At the same time, organize many activities for visitors to learn about the traditional cultural lifestyle of the locality such as: farming, fishing, brocade weaving, cultural exchange activities. Actively promote tourism products through online platforms, social networks... to attract young people. Strengthen propaganda to young people when coming to tourist areas and spots to raise awareness of environmental protection to keep the landscape clean and beautiful...
