At the program, more than 800 English teachers from primary and secondary schools in Ho Chi Minh City were trained in the Linearthinking English method. The program's speaker is PhD student Ha Dang Nhu Quynh, who achieved 9.0 overall IELTS and is the second-place winner of English Pedagogy at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.

Sharing at the program, education researcher Ha Dang Nhu Quynh - academic director of DOL English - said that the Linearthinking method will specifically support primary and secondary school students in learning English in a logical, effective way and less dependent on memorization. This method guides students to build thinking styles such as: systemic thinking, simplified thinking, connected thinking and concretized thinking... the basic skills needed to acquire any language.

With Linearthinking, students not only learn vocabulary and grammar separately, but also know how to link them into a system, thereby improving their ability to process information when listening, reading, speaking and writing. This helps primary and secondary school students learn faster, remember longer and especially avoid the feeling of "studying forever but not getting it".

In response to the opinion that studying IELTS at primary and secondary school age is too early and too difficult, especially for reading skills, NCS Nhu Quynh said that IELTS is just an exam to assess language proficiency - not a study program. Therefore, if students do not have a solid foundation in English and effective learning methods, studying IELTS early will not only not bring good results but can also discourage them.

The Linearthinking method attracted great attention from the program, many questions were raised from teachers.

However, it is absolutely advisable to orient English learning towards academics from an early age, and Linearthinking can support primary and secondary school students in building that foundation. For example, if students are trained in simplifying and connecting thinking when reading, they will no longer rely entirely on understanding each word in the reading passage – which is often difficult in IELTS. Instead, they will know how to identify main and secondary information, guess the meaning of vocabulary in context, thereby understanding the passage better even when encountering new words. This is the skill that even adults need when studying IELTS.
