On October 24, Vietnam News Agency launched the 7th Golden Moment Press Photo Awards to honor outstanding photographers and press works that capture impressive and emotional moments through the lens of photography.

This Golden Moment Award continues to be held nationwide with unlimited themes, including the fields of politics, economics, culture - society, science - technology, sports...

Professional and non-professional photographers who are Vietnamese or foreign citizens can participate in the contest. Members of the Award Council, Organizing Committee and Jury are not eligible to participate in the Contest.

The notable points in this year's contest rules are: Authors must ensure the accuracy and honesty of the information content of the work and be responsible for the copyright of the work.

Press photos are made using realistic methods, can be adjusted for lighting but absolutely do not combine or add or remove details that distort reality. Each author has the right to submit an unlimited number of works.

Responding to questions about the "abuse" of flycams in some recent competitions, Mr. Nguyen Thang, Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Pictorial, Vice Chairman of the Council, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the 7th Golden Moment Press Photo Awards, said that the Award Council does not limit authors in terms of equipment.

"Flycam is also a type of photography equipment. Authors can absolutely use it. We do not have any distinction or limitation regarding the machine. The Award Council only evaluates the work in terms of information, image quality, message, and wonderful moments that the author captured," Mr. Thang stated.

The award structure includes two sets of prizes for single photos and photo series: 1 First prize worth 20 million VND; 2 Second prizes, each worth 15 million VND; 3 Third prizes, each worth 10 million VND; 5 Consolation prizes, each worth 5 million VND.

The jury will select a number of works to display at the award ceremony, the authors will receive a photo fee of 500,000 VND/work.

Time to receive works from October 24, 2024 to November 30, 2024.
