Coffee export price increased by 67.6%

Although export volume decreased, thanks to high prices, coffee export turnover still reached the highest level in the first 4 months of the year and the highest ever.

Specifically, the average export price of coffee in the first 4 months of 2025 reached 5,700 USD/ton (up 67.6% over the same period in 2024).

In terms of markets, Germany was the largest importer of Vietnamese coffee in the first four months of 2025 with a turnover of 628 million USD (up 97.6% and accounting for 16.9% of Vietnam's total coffee export value). Next were the markets: Italy (307.6 million USD); Spain (292.5 million USD); Japan (260 million USD); the US (236.8 million USD) and Russia (213.4 million USD).

Notably, in the first 4 months of 2025, the Mexican market became a bright spot in Vietnam's coffee export picture when it recorded a breakthrough growth. Accordingly, Vietnam exported 17,413 tons of coffee, worth nearly 93 million USD to this market (an increase of 2,971%, equivalent to a 30-fold increase in volume and an increase of 5,412%, equivalent to a 54-fold increase in value compared to the same period in 2024).

In the domestic market, the price of green coffee beans is currently fluctuating between 122-122.5 million VND/ton (down 2.5-3.3 million VND compared to previous days). The reason for the decrease in coffee prices is due to increased supply from major producing countries such as Brazil and Indonesia.
