According to Venerable Tam, the number of volunteers mobilized from students, monks and nuns at the academy, people, and Buddhists at pagodas can serve 100,000 vegetarian meals for people and 3,000 delegates on each holiday. The organizing committee has divided a separate area of more than 5,000 square meters for chefs to prepare dishes and a house of about 4,600 square meters to serve a vegetarian buffet with nearly 200 dishes.
To ensure order and limit congestion on the roads leading to the festival, traffic police, militia, and police are constantly on duty to direct traffic. During the three days of the festival, many activities took place at the Buddhist Academy, including: displaying 87 national treasures of Buddhism through the periods since the religion was introduced to Vietnam, releasing 12,000 flower lanterns, raising a 500 m2 Buddhist flag...
In particular, at Thanh Tam Pagoda located in the academy campus, the Buddha's relics, which have just been brought from India, will be displayed for Buddhists to worship from tomorrow morning. On May 3, the heart relics of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc will also be invited to the Vietnam National Temple, 242-244 3/2 Street, District 10, for people to admire.
The 2025 Vesak Festival will be the fourth time Vietnam has hosted the event, following three previous events in 2008 at the My Dinh National Convention Center in Hanoi, 2014 at Bai Dinh Pagoda in Ninh Binh, and 2019 at Tam Chuc Pagoda in Ha Nam. The organizers expect delegates from 80 countries and more than 10,000 Buddhists to participate in the largest festival of Buddhists in the world.
