Mr. Hoang Khac Thuong - Party Cell Secretary, Principal of Chu Van An High School presented the decision to admit party members

Chu Van An High School is one of the pioneers and has achieved many encouraging results in this special work. Mr. Hoang Khac Thuong - Party cell secretary, school principal, shared: "Since 2019, we have determined that developing the Party among students is not only a recognition but also a great motivation for them to develop comprehensively". The school sets strict standards for future "red seeds", including: strong political ideology, aspiration to become a party member, excellent academic performance, 3 consecutive years, winning provincial level or higher prizes in competitions organized by the Department of Education and Training and the Ministry of Education, along with dynamism in Youth Union activities. Thanks to these criteria, from 2019 to present, Chu Van An High School has admitted 6 party members who are students.

Mr. Thuong added: “In 2024, the school has many advantages, with many students winning provincial-level awards, as well as quality cultural, artistic, physical education and sports movements, so in 2024, the school introduced 11 students to attend the Party sympathy class. Through monitoring and review, it is expected that in 2025, 5-6 students will be admitted, and currently, the school's Party cell has assigned Party members to be in charge of Party development work for the students; guiding the students to declare their personal information and the steps to prepare the application so that in the near future, around the beginning of May, the school will complete the application for the first admission round; and the second round is expected to be around July - August this year, because it also depends on the students' ages."

According to statistics from Duc Trong District Party Committee, the entire district Party Committee currently has 63 grassroots party organizations with 4,900 party members. From the beginning of 2020 to June 2024, 487 new party members were admitted, including 7 students from 3 high schools in the area, including: 4 students from Chu Van An High School, 2 students from Duc Trong High School and 1 student from Luong The Vinh High School.

To achieve these results, Duc Trong District Party Committee has synchronously deployed and concretized the directive documents of the Central and Provincial Party Committees on the work of developing the Party among students. Plan No. 96-KH/HU and Plan No. 159-KH/HU have been issued, directing grassroots party organizations to develop plans and assign annual targets for recruiting Party members, with special emphasis on the proportion of Party members who are union members, youth and high school students. In the annual targets, each high school strives to recruit at least 1 student.

In addition, the District Party Committee has also strengthened the direction, urging and guidance of Party organizations through many specific documents. The work of fostering knowledge for Party members and students has also been focused on. From 2020 to present, 10 classes of Party awareness training have been organized for 1,120 outstanding people, including 62 high school students, along with 8 political theory training classes for 558 new Party members.

In general assessment of this work, Duc Trong District Party Committee acknowledged outstanding advantages such as: Increased attention from Party committees at all levels, the initiative of high schools in creating resources and nurturing students, as well as strictly implementing the Party admission process. New Party members who are students are all individuals with good academic performance, good conduct and actively participate in Youth Union activities, achieving high results in exams.

However, there are still some limitations, such as the fact that some high school party cells have not yet promptly reviewed resources and developed plans for developing party members. A notable difficulty is that the pressure of studying makes it difficult for students to participate in classes to improve their awareness of the Party. In addition, the regulation on the age of admission to the Party (18 years old at the time the party cell considers admission) is also a challenge, as many excellent students are not old enough to be considered.

However, with the efforts and close guidance, the work of developing party members among students in Duc Trong has been and is making an important contribution to building a team of young, high-quality party members with strong political will, contributing to the overall development of the locality in the future. "Nurturing red seeds" from high schools is not only a political task but also a strategic investment in the young, potential human resources of Duc Trong.
