Lai Chau tourism grows impressively in the first quarter of 2025

Trekking tourism in Lai Chau is being chosen by many tourists to explore and experience during the spring months.

In the first months of the year, Lai Chau has organized many cultural, artistic and sports activities, unique and rich Spring festivals such as: Do Quyen Peak Mountain Climbing Competition, Gau Tao Festival in highland areas (Dao San Commune, Phong Tho District; Sa De Phin Commune, Sin Ho District; Ta Leng Commune, Tam Duong District and Sung Phai Commune, Lai Chau City); Putaleng Festival (Tam Duong District); Tu Ti Festival (Lai Chau City)....; especially, this year the King Le Thai To Temple Festival (Nam Nhun District), Then Kin Pang Festival (Phong Tho District) were organized on a provincial scale... attracting a large number of visitors to experience, contributing to increasing revenue from accommodation, food and beverage and transportation services.

The King Le Thai To Temple Festival was held for the first time on a provincial scale, the event contributed to increasing the number of tourists coming to Lai Chau in 2025.

In particular, in March, the season of plum blossoms, peach blossoms, bauhinia flowers, and rhododendron flowers are blooming brilliantly on all the roads and mountain peaks of Lai Chau, attracting over 164,000 tourists, an increase of 17.72% over the same period in 2024.

Also in the first quarter, tourist areas/destinations, tourism service businesses launched stimulus packages and special incentives for tourists; at the same time, Lai Chau Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism actively promoted the use of 4.0 technology in communication, promotion and tourism promotion activities; participated in annual Cultural - Tourism events organized by provinces/cities across the country; Lai Chau connected with Hanoi Department of Tourism to organize a destination promotion program in Hanoi... to expand the tourist market; at the same time, propagated, urged and guided the management units of tourist areas and destinations to strictly implement measures to ensure security and order, environmental sanitation, upgrade technical facilities, equipment, and human resource quality to serve the increasing demand of tourism in the first months of the year.

Si Thau Chai Village (Tam Duong District) is becoming a favorite destination for young people to choose as a place to visit on weekends and holidays.

According to statistics from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in the first 3 months of 2025, Lai Chau province welcomed and served 444,880 visitors, an increase of 7.01% over the same period in 2024, reaching 30.16% of the 2025 plan (of which: domestic visitors were 436,135; international visitors were 8,745) ; Revenue is estimated at 426,648 billion VND, an increase of 25.11% over the same period in 2024, reaching 35.39% of the 2025 plan. Contributing to this growth are Tam Duong district with over 190,000 visitors, Lai Chau city with about 74,000 visitors, Than Uyen district with about 50,000 visitors, Phong Tho district with about 47,000 visitors... This growth shows the strong attraction of local tourism, especially community, spiritual and ecological tourism destinations.

In 2025, the tourism industry aims to welcome over 1.4 million visitors (of which: international visitors reach over 35,000), with total revenue estimated at over 1,136 billion VND. With the current growth momentum, this goal is completely feasible, especially when the local tourism industry has proposed plans to promote promotional activities and improve the quality of tourism products and services in the province in the coming time.
