The Nguyen Chi Thanh bridge and road project starts about 450m from Tran Hung Dao street, connecting with the existing Nguyen Chi Thanh street. The end point of the project connects to 19/8 street, Vi Tan commune, with a total length of about 2.6km. The main bridge crossing Xa No canal is about 380m long (from the 2 ends of the abutments) and 29m wide.

The total estimated investment for the project is 1,600 billion VND. Of which, the estimated cost of building the bridge is 592 billion VND. The estimated cost of building the approach road is 412 billion VND. The estimated cost of project management, consulting and other costs is 120 billion VND. The estimated cost of site clearance is 236 billion VND; the estimated contingency cost is 240 billion VND.

Previously, on March 25, 2025, the People's Committee of Vi Thanh City issued a notice of land recovery to implement the Nguyen Chi Thanh Bridge and Road Project. The expected land recovery area is about ^93,531m2 of 90 households and 7 organizations. The recovery location is in Area 4, Ward VII and in Hamlet 3, Hamlet 3A, Vi Tan Commune, Vi Thanh City. The recovery progress is from 2025 to 2026. The time for conducting investigation, survey, measurement, and inventory of land and assets attached to land of related organizations, households, and individuals is within the scope of site clearance for project implementation from the date of issuance of the Land Recovery Notice to April 30, 2025.

Vi Thanh City People's Committee approved the compensation and support plan before May 25, 2025. It is expected that resettlement will be arranged at the Resettlement - Residential Area Project of the Provincial Party Committee Administrative Area (Phase 3). Vi Thanh City People's Committee requires people whose land is recovered to move their assets attached to the land out of the project area no later than 180 days from the date of the land recovery announcement.
