On October 30, Dong Nai Province Police said they were detaining Mr. Trinh Van Huan (47 years old, residing in Bac Son commune, Trang Bom district) and his two children to investigate the murder.

According to initial information, on the evening of October 29, Mr. Nguyen Van Sinh (57 years old, residing in Bac Son commune) argued with a young man near Mr. Huan's house, so Mr. Huan intervened and the young man drove away.

Mr. Sinh asked Mr. Huan to bring the young man out to talk, but Mr. Huan did not know who he was. Hiep, Mr. Huan's son, argued with Mr. Sinh and pushed him away.

That same evening, Mr. Sinh and three other people, Le Van Y, Nguyen Van Rinl (Mr. Sinh's son) and Hoang Van Tuan, brought weapons to Mr. Huan's house to resolve the conflict.

When encountering Mr. Huan's two sons, Mr. Sinh, Y, Rinl, and Tuan, who were holding weapons, rushed in to attack. In response, Hoan (Mr. Huan's son) used a switchblade to stab Le Van Y to death, and stabbed Mr. Sinh, Rinl, and Tuan, injuring them. Mr. Huan also used an iron rod to hit Mr. Sinh in the head and the victim was taken to the emergency room.

After the incident, Mr. Huan and his three sons went to the police to surrender.
