On August 22, Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Vo Tan Duc chaired a working session with departments and branches to discuss the draft report on the performance assessment of the Provincial Compensation, Site Clearance and Resettlement Support Project Management Board. At the same time, he considered the proposed model of the Provincial Land Fund Development Center in accordance with the provisions of the Land Law.

According to the report of the Department of Home Affairs, currently, the work of compensation, site clearance and resettlement in the province is being carried out by three units: the Provincial Land Fund Development Center under the Department of Natural Resources and Environment; the District Land Fund Development Center under the District People's Committee; and the Compensation Project Management Board under the Provincial People's Committee. However, the Department of Home Affairs said that the implementation of this task still encountered many difficulties and obstacles, and the results achieved were not high.

After two years of piloting, the Department of Home Affairs found that reorganizing this apparatus was necessary to comply with current regulations and practical requirements of the province. The Department proposed to establish the Provincial Land Fund Development Center under the Provincial People's Committee, on the basis of merging the Provincial Land Fund Development Center and the Compensation Project Management Board. This will be a public service unit with revenue, self-sufficient in regular expenditure, with an organizational structure of 5 specialized departments.

The decision-making authority is decided by the Provincial People's Committee. At the same time, the model of the Land Fund Development Center under the District People's Committee will be maintained and the functions, tasks, and organizational structure will be reorganized. The implementation roadmap will be in the third quarter of 2024.

Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc agreed with the proposal to establish the Provincial Land Fund Development Center and requested the Department of Home Affairs to coordinate with relevant units to complete the report to present to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee before August 31.
