Dong Nai issues Plan to develop fruit trees and key industrial crops

(DN) - The Provincial People's Committee has issued Plan No. 159/KH-UBND (April 25, 2025) to develop fruit trees and key industrial trees in Dong Nai province by 2025 and 2030.

The viewpoint of developing fruit trees and key industrial crops is consistent with the Strategy for sustainable agricultural and rural development for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050; Strategy for crop development to 2030, with a vision to 2050, and the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.

Developing fruit trees and key industrial crops based on promoting the potential and advantages of ecological regions; improving the quality, added value and competitiveness of products; protecting the ecological environment and adapting to climate change.
At the same time, forming concentrated, large-scale fruit and key industrial crop production areas, associated with the development of processing technology, deep processing to diversify products and consumption markets, promote restructuring of the agricultural sector, and socio-economic development.

The goal is to develop in a concentrated and sustainable manner, increasing the added value of fruit trees and key industrial crops; promoting linkages in concentrated production areas; synchronously applying scientific and technological advances in production, preservation and processing of products...

Specifically, by 2025, the total fruit tree area of ​​the province will be about 75 thousand hectares, with an output of 1.5 million tons; by 2030, it will be 84 thousand hectares, reaching nearly 2.3 million tons/year, focusing on 5 key crops including: mango, durian, banana, grapefruit, jackfruit.

With the main industrial crop group focusing on the following types of trees: rubber, cashew, coffee, pepper. The target by 2025, the whole province will have more than 82.4 thousand hectares, by 2030 it will be about 77.1 thousand hectares.

The plan also provides specific contents in propaganda work, production organization; development of primary processed, preserved and processed products; application of science, engineering and technology in production; brand building and product consumption connection; investment attraction policies...

The Department of Agriculture and Environment shall preside over and coordinate with departments, branches and localities to organize the implementation of the above plan.
