Dien Xa is the cradle of Tien Yen District Party Committee, the place where the historic battle on Highway 4 with the ambush of the French colonial convoy on March 4, 1949, opened the Northeast II campaign. Over the years, promoting the revolutionary tradition, the Party Committee, government and people of the commune have strived to overcome difficulties, worked hard in production, actively participated in patriotic emulation movements, achieved positive results in implementing political tasks, developing the economy - society, and improving people's lives.

Dien Xa is a mountainous commune of Tien Yen district, in which ethnic minorities account for over 95%, the economy mainly develops agriculture and forestry, in which agriculture accounts for 90%. Correctly identifying the potential, strengths as well as the difficulties and limitations of the locality, the Party Committee of the commune focuses on leading and directing cadres and party members, especially the leaders of the grassroots party committees to uphold the spirit of setting an example, taking the lead in campaigns and movements, contributing to unlocking social resources for investment in economic and social development, supporting life and activities to care for social security.

In economic development, the commune carries out tasks and solutions to promote production development and economic growth, focusing on effectively implementing the agricultural restructuring project associated with new rural construction and OCOP product development; synchronously applying and deploying mechanisms, policies and incentives to take advantage of capital resources, promoting the implementation of technology application solutions, promoting the transformation of agricultural production structure, enhancing the transfer of scientific and technical advances and processes into production, and increasing production value. At the same time, paying attention to investing in agricultural and rural production infrastructure to create conditions for production development.

The commune actively implements the project, especially the socio-economic development plan for ethnic minority areas in accordance with the actual situation of the locality; promotes advantages, increases production value. Accordingly, builds plans to develop chicken and pig herds; maintains and develops goat, buffalo and cow herds; grows green vegetables in an organic direction. Improves the efficiency of cooperative activities in the area, focusing on maintaining and developing chicken herds to ensure quality and quantity, deploys chicken farming in the direction of VietGap; registers growing area codes for rice products... Propaganda, mobilization; encourages collectives, individuals, agencies, enterprises, production and business establishments   Expand production , goods to serve the essential needs of the people; carry out activities to ensure environmental hygiene, labor safety, food safety in production and business activities. Promote the development of large timber plantations and native trees of high economic value, to protect water resources and improve forestry land.

Continue to implement solutions to promote the development of trade, services, industry, and handicrafts, including taking advantage of opportunities in the digital economy and e-commerce to expand production and consumption methods; support production establishments to participate in trade promotion activities and OCOP fairs, creating conditions for the circulation of goods.

In 2024, the production value in the area will reach over 93 billion VND, equal to 131% of the plan, up 23% over the same period in 2023, of which agriculture and forestry will reach over 55 billion VND, up 27% over the plan; industry - construction is estimated at over 8.3 billion VND, up 38% over the plan; trade - services will reach over 29.1 billion VND, up 39% over the plan.

Along with economic development, the cultural and social fields of Dien Xa also have many strong changes. The quality of education is improved. Medical activities are strengthened and improved. Life   The socio-cultural areas of ethnic minorities are cared for. Social security is ensured. The implementation of the new rural construction program has received high consensus and active participation of the entire political system, cadres, civil servants, party members and people of all walks of life. Cultural, artistic and sports activities have taken place enthusiastically. Security, politics and social order and safety are well ensured. Dien Xa will reach the advanced new rural area target in 2021. By the end of 2024, the average income per capita will reach 85 million VND, the commune will have no poor households, and 3 near-poor households according to the province's criteria.

Mr. Nguyen Ba Liep, former Secretary of the Dien Xa Commune Party Committee in the 1970s, shared: From the past to the present, the Party Committee, the government and the people in the area have always had steadfast faith in the Party, solidarity, consensus, and contributed to the revolutionary cause and the development of the homeland and the country.
