This morning, July 11, the Quang Tri Provincial Historical Science Association held its 2nd congress for the 2024-2029 term. Chairman of the Vietnam Historical Science Association, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Duc Cuong; Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board Phan Van Phung; representatives of leaders of a number of departments, branches, and 70 delegates who are members of the association attended.

In the 2018-2023 term, the Quang Tri Provincial Historical Science Association has improved the organization of the association, performed well the functions of research and organizing scientific research on history and related fields; consulting, criticizing and social appraisal in professional fields according to the provisions of law to serve the socio-economic development of the province.

In the 2024-2029 term, to continue promoting the activities of local historians, better serving the province's political tasks and integrating with the general trend of history nationwide, the Provincial Historical Science Association continues to effectively perform the functions and tasks of the association.

Speaking at the congress, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee Phan Van Phung acknowledged and congratulated the results the association had achieved in the past term. At the same time, he suggested that, with the important role of history in the overall development of the province, the association should stick more closely to its goals and principles in organizing its activities.

Consider and carefully study the set goals to effectively implement them during the term. Pay attention to selecting personnel to join the Executive Committee of the association who are truly exemplary individuals, have a passion for research and a spirit of dedication to science to improve the quality of the association's activities.

The Congress elected 13 members of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Historical Science Association for the 2nd term, 2024-2029. Mr. Nguyen Binh was elected to continue to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial Historical Science Association.
