Ho Chi Minh City delegates begin journey to bring love to homeland's sea and islands

On the morning of November 9, the fisheries surveillance ship KN-290 departed from Cat Lai port (HCMC) carrying 160 delegates from HCMC and delegates from the Navy towards the southwestern sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Before boarding the ship, the delegation offered incense and flowers at the monument of the Ship Without Numbers, Port of the 125th Naval Brigade (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City).

According to the plan, the delegation will visit and present gifts to officers, soldiers and people on the DK1/10 platform; the islands of Hon Khoai, Tho Chu, Hon Chuoi, Nam Du, Hon Doc, Phu Quoc and Con Dao from November 9 to 16.
Previously, at the conference to disseminate and implement the plan to visit the Southwestern sea and islands and the DKI/10 platform in Region 2 and Region 5 of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Delegation in 2024, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc emphasized: "The program strongly contributes to affirming the sovereignty and sovereign rights of the homeland's sea and islands. The delegates selected to go on this voyage represent the leaders and people of Ho Chi Minh City to encourage and send their feelings to the officers and soldiers on the islands."
The Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee also noted that through the working trip, in each working position, delegates need to advise the city and localities to have more creative and meaningful ways to better promote the movement "For the sea and islands of the homeland - For the frontline of the Fatherland" launched by the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.
Rear Admiral Pham Nhu Xuan said that the Party Committee, government, army and people of Ho Chi Minh City have always been pioneers in contributing, supporting and helping the army and people on Truong Sa archipelago, DK1 platform and the army and people on the islands in the southwestern sea of the Fatherland, both spiritually and materially.
"This is a source of encouragement, motivation, and added strength for Navy officers and soldiers and civilians on the seas and islands of the Fatherland to feel more secure and warm-hearted, contributing to firmly protecting the sovereignty of the seas and islands of the Fatherland in all situations," said Rear Admiral Pham Nhu Xuan.
