Immigration Department recommends citizens who have had facial plastic surgery to change their citizen identification cards

That is the information announced by the Immigration Department at the press conference of the Ministry of Public Security announcing Decree No. 02/2025/ND-CP dated February 18, 2025 of the Government, stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Public Security.

Accordingly, public opinion on social networks in recent days has been informed that after the Ministry of Public Security took over the task of state management of aviation security, security control at airports will be tightened, and people whose faces have changed compared to their passport photos will have more difficulty leaving the country.

In response to people's questions about the above content, Colonel Nguyen Ba Tuan, Deputy Director of the Immigration Department, said that in the past, facial errors in passport and document control had been warned in advance.

In particular, citizens who have changes in their facial photos must carry out procedures to issue and change their citizen identification cards and passports.

The Deputy Director of the Immigration Department recommends that citizens who have undergone plastic surgery to change their faces should apply for a new citizen identification card or passport to avoid difficulties when completing immigration procedures.

From March 1, the task of ensuring aviation security is officially directed and implemented by the Ministry of Public Security.

At the same time, the aviation security force under the direction of the Ministry of Public Security organizes to implement aviation security measures, provide aviation security services at airports, airfields and facilities for handling goods and postal items to be loaded onto aircraft.

Specifically, the aviation security force under the Ministry of Public Security takes over two of the three aviation security control functions including:

State management in the field of aviation security.

Providing aviation security services at airports, airfields, cargo and postal handling facilities to be loaded onto aircraft.

Regarding the staff performing the tasks, the Ministry of Public Security will coordinate with the Ministry of Transport to study and propose the arrangement of sufficient staff and employees to ensure smooth work, without interruption or vacancy.

Gradually improve the aviation security force according to regulations of the Ministry of Public Security.

In addition, establish a National Aviation Security Center (on the basis of organizing and rebuilding the existing Aviation Security Department) under the Immigration Department to manage the provision of aviation security services at airports, airfields and facilities for handling goods and postal items to be loaded onto aircraft.

Regarding equipment, means, techniques and logistics, financial and asset conditions to perform the task of ensuring aviation security, the Ministry of Public Security closely coordinates with the Ministry of Transport and the State Capital Management Board at ACV enterprises, and related units to implement.
