Previously, on the afternoon of May 2, two drivers blocked both the outbound and return traffic on National Highway 20, in the Da M'Ri town section, Da Huoai district, Lam Dong province, forcing all vehicles to stop operating to make way for the convoy of businessmen.

After blocking the road, about 20 cars in a convoy left a tourist area and traveled on Highway 20 from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Lat, Lam Dong Province. The incident angered many people as vehicles traveling in both directions were forced to stop to make way for the convoy.
