The General Department of Politics opened a training course on national defense and security knowledge for subject 2.

According to the program, the training course will last for 5 days, with lecturers from the Academy of Politics directly introducing 10 topics: The Party's viewpoints and policies on national security and building a people's security posture in the new situation; the Party's viewpoints, policies and laws of the Vietnamese State on protecting political, economic, cultural and ideological security and the movement of the entire people to protect national security; the Party's viewpoints and policies, the State's policies on ethnicity and religion; the Vietnamese State's viewpoints and policies on foreign affairs associated with national defense and security in the new situation; national defense states and defense emergencies; basic issues on building defense zones; management and protection of Vietnam's border, sea and island sovereignty in the new situation; laws on national defense and security education; socio-economic development associated with strengthening and consolidating national defense and security; Building and operating the militia and reserve forces to meet mission requirements in the new situation.

Speaking at the opening of the training course, Colonel Phung Thanh Tien emphasized that building and defending the socialist Fatherland are two strategic tasks of the Vietnamese revolution. Our Party affirms: While prioritizing the tasks of economic , cultural and social development, building a prosperous, civilized and happy country, we must not neglect national defense and security for even a minute, considering this an important and regular task.

Practice in state management of national defense and security, national defense education , and national security is a top priority in the cause of building national defense in our country today.

Immediately after the opening, the comrades attending the training class listened to Colonel, MSc. Nguyen Minh Thanh, lecturer at the Academy of Politics, introduce the first topic.

Through the congresses, our Party's thinking on national defense and security tasks has always developed, in line with the tasks of the revolution. In particular, at the 13th National Party Congress, the viewpoint on national defense, security, and protection of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam has been supplemented more clearly and comprehensively in both content and scope; requiring regular training; constantly improving the quality of teaching national defense and security knowledge to all subjects, creating high unity in awareness and implementation.

Colonel Phung Thanh Tien requested the Organizing Committee to prepare carefully, organize closely, and ensure the best in all aspects to serve the cadres in studying and researching. The lecturers carefully prepared lesson plans and lectures; accurately and fully conveyed the content according to the program.

For the students, Colonel Phung Thanh Tien requested that they uphold their sense of responsibility, ensure the number of soldiers, actively and proactively study all the subjects as prescribed, strengthen research and exchange, combine classroom study with self-study, clarify theoretical and practical issues, viewpoints, policies and guidelines of the Party on national defense and security. Thereby, unifying awareness, promoting sense of responsibility, improving qualifications and skills in organizing the implementation of national defense and security tasks, resolutely fighting to defeat all plots and tricks of hostile forces, contributing to building and firmly protecting the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam in the new situation.

At the end of the training course, each trainee writes a report on the topic to evaluate the results.
