This morning, June 28, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Digital Transformation (CDS); Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam chaired a meeting to evaluate the results of the implementation of digital transformation work according to Decision No. 1982/QD-UBND dated July 29, 2022 of the Provincial People's Committee (Decision 1982) and the first 6 months of 2024, directions and tasks for the coming time.

In recent times, with the active participation of all levels, sectors and the whole society, the digital transformation process in the province has achieved some remarkable results in the fields of digital awareness, digital institutions, digital infrastructure, digital data, digital human resources, digital government, digital economy, digital society, network information security... The digital transformation assessment index of Quang Tri province has improved, the component scores of digital awareness, digital institutions and digital infrastructure have all increased significantly.

Regarding the implementation of tasks according to Decision 1982, 11/11 assigned general task groups have been basically implemented. 11/21 tasks of developing digital government, 5/9 tasks of developing digital economy, 1/6 tasks of developing digital society have been deployed...

Besides the achieved results, there are still some difficulties and problems such as many units have not focused on implementing digital transformation, there are not many digital technology enterprises, especially enterprises providing digital platforms, so it is difficult to develop the digital economy.

Colleges in the province do not have training majors in digital transformation, making it difficult to develop digital human resources. Digital transformation consultants in agencies and units are mainly part-time and do not graduate from the right major in information technology.

Commenting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam suggested that the sectors should focus on effective implementation based on the outstanding tasks and additional tasks assigned to be performed in the last 6 months of 2024. The province's guiding viewpoint is that each sector is responsible for the digital transformation of that sector, the head is responsible for the digital transformation of the sector under his/her charge, and needs to outline a vision for his/her sector and locality to monitor and direct effective implementation.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung emphasized that digital transformation is no longer strange because it is closely linked to real life and is one of the important solutions that need to be focused on to better serve people and businesses. This is also an important task and solution to serve the work of departments, branches and localities.

Identifying digital transformation as an inevitable task, both urgent and long-term; must be carried out urgently, persistently, continuously with sure steps, with focus and key points, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that in the coming time, the Steering Committee review the tasks assigned to departments and branches, review the criteria for evaluating the digital transformation implementation of agencies from the provincial to grassroots levels.

Re-evaluate the organization and implementation of digital transformation from the management stage of the Provincial People's Committee and departments and branches, effectively exploit and avoid wasting infrastructure invested in digital transformation, innovate the operation of the Public Administration Service Center...

Departments, branches, sectors and localities focus on building and perfecting specialized databases and integrating them into the province's shared database warehouse to enrich data for the province.
