On the afternoon of December 4, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan - President of VFF came to meet the Vietnamese team before the start of the AFF Cup 2024. VFF leaders gave a small gift to encourage coach Kim Sang-sik and his team as a way to "bring good luck".
Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan praised the training spirit and efforts of the whole team during the important preparation period for the ASEAN Cup 2024.
The VFF President emphasized the significance of the upcoming opening match in the regional arena, and affirmed his confidence in the abilities of coach Kim Sang-sik and his team. He also encouraged the players to maintain and promote the strength of solidarity and to play their best for the country.
Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan gave a gift to the Vietnam team.
The Vietnamese team had a day off and free time in Phu Tho. On the afternoon of December 4, Coach Kim Sang-sik took advantage of the little remaining time to reinforce technical and tactical lessons for his players.
Viet Tri Stadium is also the venue for the two matches of the Vietnam team in the group stage of the 2024 Southeast Asian Championship. Early practice on the official field will help players quickly get used to the playing surface. In general, the players are in a comfortable, excited mood and have completed the training plan set out by the coaching staff.
On December 5-6, coach Kim Sang-sik will announce the list of the Vietnamese team participating in the AFF Cup 2024. Calling up 3 more players from Nam Dinh, the Korean coach had to eliminate 7 players who attended the training trip in Korea.
The first two players who are likely to say goodbye to their teammates are Nguyen Thai Son and Tran Bao Toan. They did not play a single minute in the past friendly matches in Korea.
Vietnam is in Group B with Laos, Indonesia, Philippines and Myanmar. Quang Hai and his teammates will play their opening match against Laos on November 9. Vietnam will then face Indonesia, Philippines and Myanmar.
